a growing number of threatened resignations from his own Party if the UK goes to war without the 2nd Resolution, Blair is getting deeper and deeper into shit.

Stories were circulating yesterday that not all Government resignations will be at backbench level but that Ministers may be involved, even some Cabinet members.

Blair is deeply worried and there may still be time for him to change his mind and withdraw from a shooting war. The only problem is that because of the loud and large protests, which are continuing on an almost daily basis, he may feel that to back down now will portray himself as a weak leader.

I hope we don't go to war for that reason...

If it's any consolation, I really think that the fact that he hasn't made a U-turn by now shows that he feels he's doing the right thing. If his motives were strictly self-interest, he'd be in bed with France and China by now.
