I directed this show a couple of years ago.

We used a real dog for Toto.

It was ok until the second night.

As our Dorothy began to sing "Over the Rainbow," Toto began to whine. Apparently the stage lights were bothersome to the little pooch.

Dorothy had to put the dog down and I called to the pup from backstage - she ran under the curtain to me and I held her until the next scene.

So now, my memory consists of -
