Windows 10 is a hot mess

i don't think that was it, sadly. i remember it had a post apocalypse vibe to it.

and holy shit, i just googled apple 2 and i had no idea they were as old as me. fuck. my school sucked. i mean, i knew they were old when i was a kid, but i didn't know they were that old.

I used to love those old text games. I remember one called the Count on the Vic-20 and it was so much fun. Now I wouldn’t last 30 seconds but when I was 12 it was great. There were so many of those games back in the 80s.

I had no apple 2 fun or any computers in school at all. Public high school in the boroughs back then.. we barely had books!

Ive had no problems with my Dell XPS. I bought it about 6 months ago, everything installed correctly, and i havent had a problem yet.

They made us play Oregon Trail in school. It was ok, but i was a horrible speller as a kid. Typing commands made me anxious!

You have died of dyslexia?

No shit. If i remember correctly, Oregon Trail was multiple choice. Plus, i had a NES by the time i was 7. Controllers kick the shit out of dos any day.

i could not master hunting when i played oregon trail. and by not master i mean my party generally starved to death because i couldn't kill shit. drove me mad.

Windows 10 won't recognise my older printer despite downloads from the printer manufacturer. I have to use a Win 7 system to print.

What is Windows 11 like?

There won't be a Windows 11, it was announced not long ago that 10 is it for the future. They will just keep updating it and fix all the bugs they shipped it with.

I have mine looking and working like Win7. The start button and the sperate logoff window.

win 11 is not killing anything, its just making you move to better hardware

but it looks more like a mac os so people will complain

it will be like when win 7 changed to win 8 and people whined about not being able to use it, so they took 8, changed the visual stuff and called it win 10

for me, it will be just be another cert to add to my collection

This.

FWIW, I always instal pro versions of any OS I'm putting on. Except Linux, obviously.

Same here. Had my first ever issue with W10 attempting to upgrade a W10 Home to Pro via the Microsoft Store....there was a hiccup during the purchase and it took my money and upgraded the next step up to Enterprise....then said "bad license" and bricked.

Microsoft forums acknowledged this was a "known issue".

Windows 11 was Announced on June 24, 2021, with an expected release in late 2021.

Yea but if you look at it closely, it's just 10 with a new number. And I'll bet Bill will be getting a kickback on all the new hardware everyone will have to buy to run it too.

Well, I guess it's time to switch to Linux.

Or maybe write a spoof program to make win11 think I have a newer 12 core processor than the 12 core I'm currently running. Nope, Linux.

Update: She decided to try again...and it works! This time, blazing fast, allows download, and gives a pop-up option to disable the 'S' in 10S. I guess MS heard the complaints and issued an update?

Dare I say you woke up yesterday.

MS has gone for the eternal payment scheme over buying something that works that they get upset that smart people can use for 15 years, yet complain that people use another option they dont have to pay for.

I'm literally the person that Microsoft is trying to tell me I'm not smart enough, I should just pay 100 a year. Fortunately I dont have microsoft shares.
