for each of my computers.

When I receive the 3 GB down load, I will pick the one I can do without the easiest and install it.

I probably will pray first...

Win 10 has a lot of cool features with better and advanced security.

And certainly better looking than Win 8.1.

I swear Windows 8 was designed by a group of seven year old girls at a slumber party. The only thing it's missing is glitter and I'm pretty sure that's in the next update.

Keep us updated. I've heard Track Changes is supposed to be improved somewhat. I hear you about praying. :D

Oh no....

I saw the screenshots from the expo in which Win 10 was unveiled. And it was almost back to Win 7, but with a bit of tweaks here and there.

I hope the info was true, or heads will roll.

It was designed by the marketing dept.

Same thing, really.

Why would you need to reserve them? Will 10 be a limited edition in short supply?

For me as well as for many other people it is a free download for now.

Make no mistake this whole Windows 10 is a plot.

Things you can expect in the future.

You will lease windows and certain other programs yearly from Microsoft.

Microsoft will make it difficult to run other versions of windows.

The price will start out under $200.00 US if you are not eligible for a free upgrade...it will go up later.

It will be like Cable TV. Pick the "Package" Microsoft offers with what they want you to have and pay the package lease price per year.

Big Brother Microsoft will be off into your shit and probably sell advertising when they are not tooting their own horn.

No doubt there is more.

You may think I'm full of it but do some research.

No doubt what you describe is the future. Microsoft and other behemoths that control the software sphere will do everything they can to exercise full control of every aspect of the systems that they are able to.

As well, reporting users info to the feds is already mandated.

About 3 weeks ago or so, I noticed some workers in my yard and a drill rig in the lane. I asked the workers what they were doing and they said they were installing a fiber optic line.
I asked on whose authority? They replied that the homeowner has signed an agreement.
I assured the supervisor that as the homeowner, I had given no such authorization for people to work on my property. He came back a while later and indicated that the previous owner had signed an agreement for service.
I explained to him that his company was negligent to presume the same owner was present more that 9 months later, and they had not exercised due diligence in advance of drilling and digging up my yard. I told them to remove the conduit from my property and they did.
I have not heard from them again yet, but I expect to before too long.

Interestingly, a city worker was outside today marking locations of services to the houses. I asked him why. He replied for the fiber optic line drilling. I explained to him that the drilling in this area had been completed a month ago. He just shook his head at the waste of time of city employees on this project due to every area he had been assigned to had already completed the drilling.
I asked him what the benefit of the fiber optic line coming into the house was, since the house is still hard wired with cable, and the only way to realize the fiber optic upgrade would be to change the cable in the house as well.
He said I know but the whole idea is for the service provider to put in a WIFI modem on rental. I told him that my whole house is WIFI right now, and is great service, reliable and quick.
I don't need the upgrade and rent a modem when I can buy modems and program them myself - better modems that the providers can supply.

However I expect to be able to negotiate an extended service contract with the provider in consideration of their fuck up. If not, fuck them too.
