Wild Fiction

All I can say is I went there and randomly clicked on Chapter 26 and saw one, humongous paragraph. That's not going to be popular on this site.

What is popular? A page that doesn't need to be scrolled? Is that about the right length?

Wildfiction: I think what Dr M is saying is that it is easier to read something which is broken down into paragraphs than it is to read one big clump of text.

The Earl

I skimmed a couple more segments, and that segment (26), and found that not all were like that. That one in particular was nearly all one paragraph.

The Doc was making the point that it's hard on the eyes to read things in that sort of "block Format" I guess is the way to say that. He's right about that one. The other segments don't seem hard to read at all. I skimmed a few lines, but not enough to get the gist. I'm disinclined to read given the length of the overall piece. Too tired (and already have a Lit. reading list that's far too long to continue to neglect).

I'd say read through the toplists to see what works well where, and where the story bits might belong/get the most attention, hang out on the boards and talk to the other writers, fix those long, over-drawn paragraphs, and submit. Why not just see what happens?

Thanks Quiet Cool - I think we hit the reply buttons at the same time.

Is there a voting system on the forum that will show me which THE most popular stories have been in the past?

Not on the forum, that I know of. But if you check the actual story listings,, absolutely. Just click on the links for Most read" and "Top Stories."

From what I read (& Earl is right about what I meant with the paragraphing), you're a fine writer and your stuff would be welcome and appreciated here. Go for it.

I just randomly sampled and so didn't see any sex, so I can't comment on that. But anyone who writes that kind of prose should have no trouble with that. Post away. and welcome to Lit.

Oh, that is very high praise indeed!

I had planned on reading later anyway, but reading dr. M's post makes it a must.

Welcome to Lit and the AH, Guy.
