Over the past couple of years I have made many comments about my wife, and I have even been questioned about her being real. ( )

My wife has decided that it is time to put these rumors to rest. She therefore had me take a picture of her today and send it to a couple of people I respect on this board. Because of the good comments she received from these people she now wants me to put her picture here. So here is the Butterfly, my wife of the past 13 years.

Yes I did take the time to thank everyone who posted here, and for good reason. Not only did you take the time to respond to her picture which made her feel good, it also validated her feelings about herself.

Let me tell you a little story.
When I first met my wife she was as shy as a mouse. She was ashamed of her body, she was ashamed of how she looked and tried to hide it. My darling wife had been made this way by two factors. She had grown up in an overcontrolling household where sex was something to be put up with and certainly not enjoyed. (Wifely duties was often used.) The fact that she had and still has scars was used to make her feel like damaged goods. The second factor was she had gone through not one but two rapes just prior to my meeting her. (Date Rapes by the son of a cop.)

When I met her she wore high necked long sleeved shirts even in the middle of summer. She wore loose long pants, even to bed. her bathing suits would have been high fashion during the forties.

It has taken 13 years of patience and hard compasionate work to turn those attitudes around.

Now today she finally allowed me to show her to other people and the response has been fantastic. She is damned near glowing with pride at the comments many of you have made here on the board and through PM's. I sincerely thank you, all of you. You have made her day.
