I started a wife swapping story not to long ago. I was woundering if anyone would like to help me out with the spell checking with this story aswell as maybe adding someone to the story itself ( if needed ) Anyhow please pm me or email me. I believe it a really good story so far. Its about a couple of married friends going on a vaction trip with each other and surprise surprise sparks start flying.

Wife swapping story

You make me wonder how you compose and submit stories. Seems like just about every word processing program has spell check of some kind.

I'm no computer guru, but maybe someone else can help. I use a word processing program called RoughDraft. I got it free off the net at RoughDraft.com. It has individual word spellcheck or it will check an entire story.

Anyone else care to offer some advice?

oh cool thank you. Yeah i know alot about computers but the problem is i forgot to add a spell checker and now i cant get the one i wanted cause the site closed down. Plus i cant spell for nothing so i was only able to submit one story ( at the time i had one )

This doesn’t always work I have the same problem I put the wrong word in but spelt correctly a spell and grammar checker quite often will miss this.

I would suggest speak to Chicklet if she is around ok.

well i did send it to her but she keeps on forgetting about it ( :: sniffs :: im not that important ) so i figured this was the only way left and i tryed looking for that spell checker program and i could find it =/

MSWord has spellcheck. Use that. If you are strapped for cash and want a world class word processor try Corel WordPerfect 2002. Just as powerful as MSOffice XP and costs approx $50 for the OEM distribution media.

It will not catch contextual errors; no spellchecker will. But if you read your work out loud you should be able to catch those on your own.

Ms Word XP is supposed to catch contextual errors. It says so in the advert, but it isn’t that good at it and get confused at times.

I find when you read your work you read the same mistakes as if they are correct, It is best if you have someone close to you who can read it for you in my humble opinion.

And not a bad opinion, at that!

Reading your work aloud slowly, making sure you hit every word also does wonders. Stop at each sentence. Ask yourself what it was you were trying to say. Read your sentence again. Often, this is all that is needed. A sentence like ‘The black cat blew a tire and spun out, careening into a light pole’ will pass most spellchecks. You might scan your eyes over it a dozen times and not see a problem with it. But I find that the first time you read it out loud, stop, then think about the sentence you will immediately see that cat should be car.

Mistakes will always happen of course, but if you can catch 95% of them on your own, that makes your proofreader’s/editor's job much more pleasant. It also shows that you take your writing seriously, and do it with some measure of professionalism.

(In case you are wondering, 'Tatewaki of the Fat Fingers' made this typo in a story and never caught it. Neither it, nor the three other cat/car mistakes in the manuscript. My proofreader found quite amusing to read of a cat doing 160 kph on the freeway.)

Wife swapping story

I think that cat passed me last week on I-15, headed south toward the California border.

Anything happening with the wife swapping story?

nope still waiting for someone to look it over. I've tryed reading it out load twice and sending it in to lit but i must really be just that bad at spelling and what not cause thay kept sending it back saying that my spelling is bad...

Send it to me, if you wish. I will not add to it or fix up the grammar, but I'm willing to spell check it for you, and clean up any contextual errors you might have.

Regards,
