you know when you reply to a thread thee is a review of the last 20 posts below where you fil in your reply?

Is it possibly to turn that off, and if one did turn that off might it lighten the server load?

just a thought, cause it is like opening the whole thread up a second time when you don't need that 20 posts worth of bytage everytime.

would it work? would it help? Techies only you really know

And a good thought it is Tod-O.

Unfortunately, the "bytage" isn't what's slowing things down right now, it's access to the server to get the information to format the pages with.

It depends on whether the software re-reads the last 20 posts when you click on reply or not. If it does, then eliminating those 20 posts or reducing them to 10, would definitely reduce the server load. Unfortunately, I don't know if that's something that can be configured or not -- It's worth a check by Manu though.

I think it re reads them or at least the way my connection acts it does, cause it brings up the reply block and then pauses fo a few moments when there is a full thread of post to read before it plops down the last 20

you go thte pull with Manu go for it please, you can even take the credit for it
