I stumbled by the new stories list to have a look-see, and what do I see, my two stories high up on the list. Well, that's nice. But the thing they've done to the descriptions kind of baffles me.

Manhattan - Her hair moved unnaturally; it was just the beginning.

Remedy for a Stumbler - Fragments of memories, lost soul, & angel in blue.

Sure, shorten it if it's too long, replace it if it sucks. But keeping the text and just messing up the grammar? Odd. They ARE shorter now but the originals were shorter than many other on that list. The first one floats like a lead brick. And the second one is just plain incorrect.

Oh well. Not that it matters enough for me to bother Laurel with it. She's busy enough as it is. I'll settle for whining here. ;)

Just curious. It never happened with my other stories. Is it common that descriptions get changed?

I've had them remove an unnecessary word one time for 'Feast Of The Rose Garlands'. I think I submitted "Renaissance Painter loves his wife and his apprentice" and the second "his" was dropped, which was fine. Nothing very drastic.

Another time, I submitted a story as Twink_Alert and the description was supposed to be "Sexy Russian boy goes to work for his horny uncle." instead they changed the "boy" to "guy". It kind of irked me since I did a search and the word "boy" appears in countless titles and descriptions.

I would definitely say something to her about it. It may have even been an accident or something. I don't know about you, but I get very attached to my characters and when I write a certain description, I freakin' mean it.

I dunno, as long as nobody messes with my actual story, I'm quite happy. But I'll PM laurel with a suggestion for one of them, I think.
