Why would a female who was molested become a slutty adult?

We hear often that many women who are very promiscuous were molested as children. This is claimed, whether true or not, to be particularly the case for prostitutes and pornography actresses. This seems kind of counterintuitive to me, as I would think it would in fact be the opposite. If someone was sexually abused as a child they would not want anything to do with the gender that molested them or even with sex at all.

Can someone explain the reason why this would be the case? It really makes no sense to me, and I would like to think most sluts do it out of actual enjoyment not because they have some deepseated issues from their past.

My guess is that women who were abused, particularly by a relative, begin to equate the abuse with actual affection? I think that a lot of stuff gets "wired" when we're young, and whether kids have an absent parent, have a parent who abuses them, or live in a home where others are abused, they subconsciously start to equate that behavior with what's normal. Of course, I could be completely off-base....either way it's tragic.

This can happen - children who are abused can grow up to also be abusers because their learned behaviour is that abuse = love.

There is also the possibility that children who are abused (this doesn't cover just sexual, but also psychological and neglect) have very low self worth and value, and so they don't see themselves or their body as something special. Hence they can be very promiscuous, as they don't feel the need to protect their body or their feelings.

Yep. And I think they see sex as a way of being valued by someone else and a way to seek affection.

Parents are the supreme powers in a child's universe. If you can only get approval from your father by submitting to his sexual desires . . . well, it's easy to see how one might grow up thinking the whole world is like that.

Many people who are abused as children decide at some point to take complete control of their sexual exploitation. They do this by being in total control of when, where and how they are sexual.
Be it porn, or promiscuity - it's on THEIR TERMS.

Also some due to the extent and range of abuse can only express there emotions and feelings sexual. Its how they give and show there affection towards another but is also what they are expecting in return. Especially if multiple types of abuse happens to the same person from one or more family members or friends. This shows up in men and women. Another thing is they are taking control of there sexual experiences and continuing to act the same way and doing many more as a way to prove they enjoyed the what but not the how.
