According to him it was because he had inside information about the insurrection.

Three weeks before the Jan 6 the congress was furnished with an intel report warning of a possible confrontation at the capitol building. That why Trump offered 10,000 troops but was denied. Questions about this security briefing is the main reason why Jordan and Banks were removed from that commission. They would have brought that up for questions and answers.

I imagine that you get up around 4 am to start reading every right-wing blog you can access. Then you spend your day here trying to convince someone, anyone of the veracity to the bullshit you believe.

So many lies and distortions.

A report three days before the radical right insurrection on January 6th was circulated internally only - not to "the congress" - raised an alarm. However it was largely dismissed except for some things like having a few more cops on duty and moving the barricades a litter further out - because the bias was that a bunch of white radical right so-called conservatives who generally ally with the police and the GOP lawmakers, who were also present there that day, would be not be violent. For anyone asking about systematic racism and white privilege please re-read the previous sentence.

Jordan is going to be called to testify for his role in the insurrection and conversations with Trump so having him on the committee is a non-starter and McCarthy knew it. There is no scenario where the failures of the Sargent at arms and the Cap Police will not be addressed by the committee. What will also be examined is the role Trump and his cronies played in a delayed response of any reinforcements.

And back to the OP - Mo Brooks was informed by one of the insurrectionists and that is why he wore body armor. Oath Keepers? Finding out who gave him that information will be very interesting indeed. As well as Jordan's and Trump's interactions That day and before. Brooks NOT notifying this peers and authorities about a threat he found credible enough to have him don body armor is a big area to investigate with him being one of the seditionists.

Trump never offered anything

Klanguide is so full of shit I can smell him from here.

[WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump told his advisors at one point this past week he wanted 10,000 troops to deploy to the Washington D.C. area to halt civil unrest over the killing of a black man by Minneapolis police, according to a senior U.S. official]

He wanted a war with blm. He did not want to protect congress you filthy liar.:)

According to him it was because he had inside information about the insurrection.

He helped to plan the attempted coup, which his speech indicated he expected it to be violent. So, just showing his support of sedition. He needs to be prosecuted for treason and sent to prison. The message must be sent that, if you're going to attempt a coup against the United States, you need a much more competent leader than Donald Trump.

If you were as big of an asshole as MoBro, wouldn't you wear armor?

At the very best - and this is being charitable - Trump informally threw out the number 10,000 informally, in a discussion with the defense secretary on an unrelated matter on the night before the attack. But 1) it had nothing to do with the insurrection, which after all hadn't even happened yet, and 2) it was never a formal order. The closest Trump appears to have come to that was saying "you do what you need to do". Neither Nancy Pelosi nor any member of her staff had anything whatsoever to do with that discussion.

I'll do this one to show you that it's not hard to look up fact if you're not lazy.

Trump says he did.

According to Miller's testimony, Trump asked during that meeting whether the District of Columbia's mayor had requested National Guard troops for Jan. 6, the day Congress was to ratify Joe Biden's presidential election victory.

Trump told Miller to "fill" the request, the former defense secretary testified. Miller said Trump told him: "Do whatever is necessary to protect demonstrators that were executing their constitutionally protected rights."

Liberal Media says he didn't - gee, what a surprise.

Pelosi has a 'hammer over Mo Brooks's head' on Capitol riot investigation: Former prosecutor

On CNN Thursday, former federal prosecutor Elliot Williams broke down the claim by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) that he had had credible threats of violence ahead of January 6th — and how it puts him in a bind when the House committee investigating the attack demands his testimony.

"This is incredibly relevant information," added Williams. "If he, as many Republicans in Congress were making the argument, this is about Capitol safety, if are you saying that you were threatened by BLM protesters, that's relevant to the inquiry that's happening right here. Come in, say it under oath voluntarily to Congress. Everyone thinks the Speaker would seek a subpoena and the Justice Department would enforce one. She has a hammer over his head, if he chooses to go down that road, but it'll take a long time once they get to court."

Just have two armed US Marshals, with handcuffs serve the subpoena, and frog march his ass over to the Committee room! Easy :D

So he offered to protect them, not restrain them -- but, protect them from what or whom?

And even if that's all true - a big if - it's separate and distinct from his later claim that he "offered 10,000 troops". That's false, and we know where he got the number from and what he really did do.

So what are you wetting your pants over this week?

Nothing. Why are you projecting like this? If you hadn't noticed, your rotten world is crumbling. You picked a loser--big time--making you a big-time loser. Maybe they'll give you adjoining cells so you can continue kissing Trump's ass.

That says he wanted the NG to aid the Insurrectionists, not protect the Capitol from them.
