Why Momma Was Wrong About Women

How inflammatory?

Would you want the author to know your opinion? I mean, have you posted a comment to the story? There is a lively debate going on there: "You sir, are a fucking Genius!"/nice=doormat, etc. I love the comment from Blackdolls that she used to send the good guys away "for their own good"! And she thought that was the reason...

Anyway, it might not be worth bringing the debate here because you could get every shade of opinion and there are no winners in this one. But I'd like to read your response if you want it off your chest.

For what it's worth, leaving aside the trenchant remarks in the comments, I think the essay is supposed to be humourous. At no point is it actually funny, but no-one can expect to carry around opinions like that and be taken seriously. Can they? The man - I mean, the MAN - plainly has issues, not least with Momma.

Thanks. I suppose it would make sense if that essay was supposed to be humorous. In which case, I fell for it, didn't I? I just know people in real life who might agree with it, so that just makes it that much more wrong.

I think I'll just post a short version over at the actual comments section.

I don't think the post was meant to be humorous. I've learned to accept that not everyone has my opinion, even when I think they're talking out of their fundamental orifice.

If you feel so strongly, my suggestion is you write a rebuttal that expresses your views (calmly and without being rude) and post it in R&E as a reply - with a link to the original post.

Personally, I find life's too short to burst a blood vessel over opinions that I have no respect for.
