I'm sure if you go to the Associated Press site or read the New York Times you'll find all these stories. Does TV news suck? Yes. But just because anchorman Bob Toupee doesn't cover something between Osama Bin Laden and the latest Hollywood box office receipts doesn't mean it's not in "the American Press". There are other, bigger, stories. I'd love to have a more comprehensive reading from TV, but it's not really possible. No conspiracy here.
I read stories about The Golden Knights and the blast in Yemen earlier .....They were linked off of another site.......Also read a good one about recent protests this past week in Iran where the Mullahs cracked down severely on anti-goverment protesters.Theres lots of things that you have to really search for..The Iranian demonstrations are quite interesting as there are a lot of pro-western people there who are not getting exposure in the mainstream media.......
Collisions between private airplanes are very common. If there is not a significant loss of life, they will only make the local papers or television news.
Crashes of individual private airplanes are extremely common. They often don't even make the local tv news unless they happen in a populated area.
One day last year, I was working in southern California. There were two mid-air collisions between private airplanes on the same day. I heard about them on the radio in the car, but they weren't on the television new that night.
Lots of news is happening all the time. We can only handle it in small doses.
Everything that is TV is not designed for entertainment or for informational purposes. TV in this country is and always has been about one thing...
...getting you to watch the commercials and buy their products.
TV news is still too busy discussing Rosie's sexual orientation rather than some of these other issues you posted. I had a project in a communications class way back in college to watch a primetime news show and track how much time was spent on important issues and how much was "fluff". I still remember the news program spending 30 seconds on a bus crash in India. Why? Because they had film of it.
I also chuckled last year during some earthquake coverage. One channel actually sent a news helicopter out to the scene of where a train stopped. It happened to be like 3 am (it was dark) but we had live shots of the police lights going round and round. Hilarious stuff.
I was a little "put off" with the assumption you made that these stories were deviously left out of the "American Media", so I didn't read every line of every specious charge made against each story!!
Sorry, babe, Fox and CNN has carried each of these stories ad-nausium since they started!
Have you met the Peeper Man? I think he will support your anti-American rant......I can't!!!
The Golden Knight crash was on television last night.
We've developed yet another huge cave-busting bomb for use in Afghanistan, [something] Blu.
We also had another successful test of our missle defense system, this one against three decoys.
The Chinese have developed space robots as a prelude to manned space flight and plan to dominate the world's space efforts and have a time-table, which they will adhere to, damn the cost in lives, for colonizing the moon.
But who wants to read about that when you have important newsmakers every day, like Andrea Yates and Tipper Gore...
