Why is Trump pandering to homosexuals?

So Roger Stone was on Alex Jones discussing how pro-homosexual Trump is and how the homosexuals are flocking to his campaign.

I fail to understand how even if he won over ALL homosexuals, which is obvious not going to happen or even come close, this would make any difference. This is 2% of the population. At least 20% minimum of the population is still anti-homosexuality (probably at lot more, but we'll use the conservative estimate).

Also, there are at least as many Muslims in the US as homosexuals. And lots more non-gay Hispanics. Wouldn't it make sense to try to win over more of those groups, than this 2% that is the most liberal group in the entire population.

I think there are prominent homosexuals in the Trump campaign who are pushing this, possibly including Stone himself who has always struck me as questionable in terms of his sexual orientation.

It is not the 2%, but the percentage that has sworn fealty to them and that middle which thinks that Republican automatically equals homophobe that he is "pandering" to (although some of would see that as reaching out to, something the Party gives lip service to, but as yet have failed to figure out how to do). The election is close in swing states and all he needs to do is work the wavering needle of who do you fear most, "Corrupt" Hillary or the business equivalent of PT Barnum.
