Why is there so much scorn on the GB for the PG?

This isn't intended to dig, insult, demean, or in any other way offend anyone. I am merely trying to understand and would like everyone's take on this.

There are two sides to every story. I would like to hear yours.

I just wanted to understand some things. I think the most important thing I learned is that I made a biased statement based on my observations here without really checking into the other side of the story. I try to not do that and it was a good lesson. It was one of those reality checks that everyone needs.

So, why provoking both boards?

Actually Gem, if you read her other thread, she didn't provoke the other board at all...Everyone was very nice about answering her questions. I think we all learned something from the thread...

It's that old addage... different strokes for different folks...

I feel like I've made some friends on the PG... most have been very supportive during my hard time the last couple weeks since my brother died with comforting words and thoughts... I've appreciated it most when I feel like I'm alone in the world!!

As for the GB... it has it's good days and bad just as the PG. I don't find anymore intelligence there more than here... Yes, they do tend to speak their minds but I also noticed that if you don't think like them they bash you for speaking yours. Go figure...

If I'm in the mood to post to something that catches my eye, I do... otherwise, I just read/lurk. I've learned many a thing by keepin my mouth shut and observing!!

It is true too. I did learn a lot. Most everyone was very forthcoming.

I was pleasantly surprised. I had assumed that I would be flamed and had braced myself. I sort of proved the ass out of u and me thing. But I'm not afraid of making mistakes. It's if you keep making the same mistakes over and over when it becomes a problem.

I REALLY wanted to know.

I was surprised when people on the GB took it seriously and tried to give me answers.

I wanted to know if anyone here might also have anything to add. It seemed fair. If you want to know something the only way is to ask a question.

When I came to Lit, it was the PG for me...my friends were here. I lurked in the GB a few times, and got bitched at some, so figured I'd just stick around here.
After a while, I got tired of all the "sex" talk, and went to the GB, mostly. I like the knowledge that I can actually get out of it, believe it or not~I mean, you have the bullcrappers, that wanna argue amongst, but I did meet a rather large group of ppl that were interesting to chat with.
But, in all actuality, I live in the RW, and I know that it just depends on what you are looking for in life, as to where you will go looking for it.
Just my thoughts...

What I've found the short time I've been here is the GB is more for us with short attention spans! The topics are always changing . I don't think there's any more or less "sex talk" but I think, and have heard, that there is more sexually related material in the Playground. Which is why I'm surprised I'm not here more often! When I first came to Lit I was on the pic thread of course checking everyone out but as always I gravitated more to the discussion area like most of the sites I frequent. I love to look at the ladies but not all the time. I believe the more creative, imaginative types that like to fantacize can be found in the Playground. The threads tend to take up more time, it seems to me, and you have to follow to really get maximum enjoyment. I like all the areas actually. I have heard that the GB can be hard and rude and all that mess and I haven't really found it. But then, I don't let myself get bothered. I go where something looks interesting.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with the results of my questions. I gained insight and that really was what I wanted.
