Why is the GOP sucking up to a brutal Dictator?

Hard-core fundamentalist Muslims didn't consider Ayatollah Khomeini a dictator.

Hardcore fundamentalist Muslims will claim the Taliban gave them their freedoms (even as they strip them away from everyone else.)

Hardcore communists don't consider Kim Jong-Un a dictator.

So, likewise, many in the U.S, hardcore Christian fundamentalists, and those who admire a strong dictatorial government, don't consider Trump a dictator. Some even claim that he will "Give them their freedoms"- Even as they strip them away from everyone else.

I suspect that there used to be a silent majority of the GOP who have been horrified by Trump and the actions of him and his enablers over the last 4 years. The thing is, many of these no longer identify as "GOP/Republicans" any more, so i'm not sure how much of a minority it is who are still left in the party.

Since when is the either now or outrageous when it comes to politics across the water?

We have several who would be tyrants here at home. I still remember that Democrats regarded Trump as one.

The answer to the question posed in the subject line depends on whether or not one believes it’s in the national interest to do so. The US has embraced many brutal dictators throughout its history when doing so has been deemed to be in the interest of the country.

Maybe sucking up to this piece of shit will hasten the demise of the GQP.

Hungary's Viktor Orban condemned for 'mixed race' speech by ex-aide and Holocaust victims' group

Hungary's hardline nationalist leader Viktor Orban is facing international condemnation after making remarks on race and multiculturalism that were slammed as a "pure Nazi text" by his longtime aide.

..

Their lust for this monster should be enough to get them all voted out of office.

Viktor Orban owed his power to winning contested elections. I doubt he is unpopular in Hungary. He wants to keep immigrants out of Hungary. So do most Republicans. He does not like homosexuals and transsexuals. Neither do most Republicans. Republicans see Victor Orban as a man with Trump's policies, but without Trump's embarrassing flaws of character and personality.

Melania Trump Reappears

The former first lady reappeared as she and her husband hosted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at a Mar-a-Lago dinner reception.

Maybe Mel has something 'special' in mind ... wink-wink, nudge-nuidge.
