I think because its such a sensual thing. Some women become something more with a whip in thier hands, same way some men do.
No longer the rule-bound housewife/laywer/whatever. Free and in charge and ready to take and give as they like, normallicy be damned.

Its almost an elemental dance, control and beauty, fear and anticipation. Personally, I love weilding that kind of power, if only for a little while. That utter trust placed from both sides, the control and care placed within the scene. It creates a moment that's transcendant.

I think it works for me for the same reason as lingerie -- it's something the woman is doing that is DELIBERATELY sexual.

In contrast, a stock woman holding a stock whip I don't find sexy -- again, because it's not something she is doing for sexual reasons.

I have, and it's definately 100% sexy. But it doesn't make me lose control. That's not to say if I met Sandowsdream, I would be in control of her... any more than the other way around. The point was that while I find it sexy, I don't find it a power thing.
