Why is Mike Pence running for President?

He has zero chance of winning the GOP nomination. And is having problems raising money. Did Mother insist he run?

Not sure why those other clowns are in the race either.

Rob DeSantis - should have stayed on the sideline. He was hoping something would happen to Trump. Now if something does happen to DJT, the MAGA crowd isn’t going to embrace Ron DeSantis

Chris Christie - he and Mike Pence are competing to see who can get the fewest votes

Asa Hutchinson - trying to find out if there any non-crazy Republicans left. Spoiler Alert: there aren’t

Nikki Haley - hoping to tap the undiscovered Desi vote

Vivek Ramaswamy - wants to be VP and thinks the undiscovered Desi vote will give him an edge

Tim Scott - looking to be the VP candidate

Francis Suarez -who?

Will Hurd - who?

They are all staying around with the hope that Republicans-at-large will come to their senses as indictments pile on Trump. There's every reason to believe that this could happen. Sans Trump, it becomes an open field for others.

Barring a medical situation or the minuscule chance that DJT negotiates a plea deal and drops out, Trump is going to be the GOP nominee.

There's always the chance he'll parlay a promise not to run if he's let to skate on all of the charges. I can see him trying it; I hope I don't see the various prosecutors buying into it.

It's fine if he runs. I can't see him winning a presidential election.

But why is Mike Pence running? Even if Trump drops out for whatever reason, MP has zero chance of being the nominee.

Former vice presidents run (and often win) in their own right. Pence believes he deserves the job. God has told him so. He too is banking on Trump's legal problems ditching him in time for traditional Republicans to flow back in and give the nomination to one of theirs. And why not? What's to lose in doing so?

If Trump and all the other current candidates dropped out, Mike Pence would still not be the nominee.

Pence is just spending other peoples money and making himself look like a bigger fool.

You do know the Cheeto wasn’t polling like a front runner back in 2015? Scott Walker and Jeb Bush were the front runners. Few thought the Cheeto was a legit contender.

Now if the MAGA keep supporting a multiple indicted, and possibly convicted candidate for President…

So yeah, Mike thinks he has a chance.

You and I know that. Pence doesn't. God is on his side. Again, what does he have to lose?

To my eyes, DeSantis' political moves have been baffling when it comes to the presidency. He has made being more anti-choice on abortion the big issue in going up against Trump, seemingly forgetting that this is a nationwide contest and not merely a Florida contest. Combine that with DeSantis alienating the crazy base as well as Trump's biting verbal insults, and Ronnie is done.

Mike Pence is even more a pathetic figure, a man who couldn't even publicly condemn someone (Trump) whose supporters would have happily lynched him on January 6, 2021. Has he no pride at all? Ridiculous! And don't get me started on Pence's views on abortion, where he opposes it in all circumstances, even non-viable pregnancies and a threat to the woman's life. His state Indiana is about to illegalize abortion as of August 1, 2023. He's a vile human being.

He's raising his profile so that he can ask the person who eventually beats Trump for a role (such as VP).

Politicians generally like campaigning. They may especially like national campaigns, with donors paying travel expenses. If Pence gets enough money for buses, first class flights, four star hotels, etc., he's winning.

According to a recent poll of GOP voters, they asked an unusual question, which candidate would you not vote for?

Vice-President Pence finally found a poll that he could win.

That's because Pence didn't drink the Jan 6 Kool-Aid.

Maybe the guy has a smidgen of character.

Yeah, TR and the Progressive movement.

Didn't he just mail play golf, where all the good deals are stuck? Like the Bidens and Burisma.
