...Anyway, here is an aspect that will probably get zero attention in the media whatsoever - yeah the CIA has probably taken advantage very quickly of the overall situation, and 'helped' things along quite a bit no doubt, but, from what I have been told by people who speak the language and know the area quite well, Maduro was vulnerable from the start because he was never all that liked even by the Left in Venezuela. Chavez adopted Maduro as the guy he could rely on to be the effective conduit for orders and instructions down to the lower levels, but Maduro has one real problem himself - he speaks REALLY BAD Spanish, like he's a complete illiterate using vulgarities as if they are common for everyone to use all the time, which they are not. Is he perhaps dyslexic? It's a possibility. He cannot command the respect of the Left and the working and lower classes because they view him as perpetually the underling now trying to be what he cannot ever be.

And so no doubt 'strategic assessments' were made and (tactical) action steps taken.

Liberals in this country who admire socialism have ALWAYS made excuses when it's failed.

Even back in the 1930's, when the Soviet Union's Marxist-socialist government was presiding over the government-created famine that ultimately resulted in the deaths of 20-million people, liberals in the U.S. were praising Joseph Stalin for his courageous leadership. And after Stalin's alliance with Hitler collapsed (in June of '41), and the U.S.S.R. soon after became our ally, Hollywood made movies proclaiming Stalin's greatness! (Seriously, watch 1943's "Mission to Moscow" someday, starring Walter Huston!)

After Fidel Castro siezed power in Cuba, the far-left in America made endless excuses for that nation's deteriorating economy and growing lack of freedom. They blamed the U.S. economic embargo for over half-a-century for that nation's hopeless oppression & endless poverty, insisting that Castro was incredibly popular despite no free elections on that island since he first took power.

And now we're hearing the very same things regarding Venezuela. That once-prosperous, oil-rich nation has become another oppressive socialist hell-hole, where the leaders have plundered the wealth of their people, with the Maduro regime currently using the army to remain in power. Most of Latin America & the European Union have followed President Trump's lead in recognizing Juan Guaido as the legitimate leader of that country, while Putin's Russia, China, Cuba, & Bernie Sanders all continue to support the Maduro regime.

US denies Russian accusation it is preparing Venezuela intervention

A top Russian security official on Tuesday accused Washington of deploying forces in Puerto Rico and Colombia in preparation for a military intervention in Venezuela to topple Moscow’s ally, President Nicolas Maduro, something the United States denied.

“… The United States is preparing a military invasion of an independent state,” Nikolai Patrushev, secretary of the Russian Security Council, was quoted as saying in an interview with weekly newspaper Argumenty i Fakty.

However, the U.S. special envoy for Venezuela, Elliott Abrams, when asked on Tuesday if Washington was preparing to take military action in Venezuela, responded: “No.”

“The president has said all options are on the table. Presidents always say that and rightly so. But it ill behooves the Russians to talk about military intervention after they have dismembered both Georgia and Ukraine,” Abrams told reporters at the United Nations ahead of a Security Council meeting on Venezuela.
