Why is it that there are no FUNNY conservative comedians or humorists?! Mallard Fillmore was never funny. No conservative standup comic i have ever heard was funny. No RW editorial cartoon I have seen in many decades now has been funny. Even P.J. O'Rourke has not been VERY funny since his National Lampoon days.
Why is it so impossible for RWs to be funny?!

This one got him nominated for one of his two Pulitzer Prizes. It managed to offend every Jew and every Arab in the Middle East. He's not funny, but he does go for the jugular. I can respect that.

The "wow" factor is that Hinchcliffe has been doing this literally for years out of Austin Texas, basically running a conservative training lab for aspiring racist comedians. His Youtube highlight reels and podcast history shows he will say/do anything to get a negative reaction. Small wonder he was the opener for Trump's MSG Hate Rally.

The advent of the Tea Party, birther movement, and what followed, started shaping edgy Liberal comedians who used to do racial humor, like Sarah Silverman and Lisa Lampanelli. When audience reactions pivoted from "ooo; did she go there?" to "yeah; tell it like it is - fuck that [race]", it had a profound effect on that type of comedy, and they pretty much dropped it.
Conservative stand-up "comedy" where I live follows the same formula:
*Begin with observational references
*Tie those to how Democrats supposedly ruin everything
*Repeat for the entire set.
They're not actually comedians; they're just people listing grievances into a mic, and audiences wanting to identify with their bitching. The stuff that's supposed to kill gets chuckles; the rest gets crickets - even with a receptive crowd. Because it isn't actually funny.
And then there are the unfunny cartoonists -- Antonio Branco, Ben Garrison, StoneToss, A. Wyatt Mann . . .

I love stand up comedy. I follow comedians the way most people follow bands. There are hilarious people in both the leftist and right wing camps. As a centrist, I'm able to laugh at all of them, even those I don't agree with, because I've never take things too seriously. They're jokes, afterall. The question is, can you laugh at a joke when you don't agree with the punchline?

I think there is a wide open slot for a talented RW comedian to have a huge career because there is A LOT on the left to make fun of. That being said, I've never seen a RW comic do anything but punch down. LW comics are guilty of it too, the anti-Trump material will be as obvious and predictable as the George W. material was. Any talented RW comics out there that write good observational comedy?

Most political cartoons are not funny. They make a point and are hopefully apposite but no-one laughs out loud.
That said, the only reason why people put laughing emojis at a lot of RW memes/cartoons is because they are under the impression that there is a deep significance (but are not aware of the self-own invariably displayed.
