Why Dragons?

I have been writing the dragonlords stories for a while now, and I am starting to wonder, what is the obsession that people have with dragons... Is it the tail, the power, the claws, the big...?

I wish I knew. What I do know is that any story with the word Dragon in it will get plenty of hits (for Sci-fi/fantasy or Non-human), and a lot of feedback. (The dragon fans are verbose little perverts )

So any authors (or readers) out there, if you know why dragons are so popular, please let me know. It is a mystery.

Supposedly wise and magical. The last point would count the most I think.

Dragons Cuz

Dragons are the Most well known, Sentient myths. Monsters with a brain. If you think about it Dragons are the Biggest and Smartest. if you look at other Monsters the Dumb ones are popular among some people. but the Smart ones are more widely liked. Like Hannibal Lector. We like the Villain with a brain. and well Dragons have both brain and brawn. And there is the Religious connection to Satan Being a Dragon. and Dragons have everything people like and fear. a lot of people Fear Fire, well breath is. Scales are consider disgusting. and Well who doesn't want to fly. What's scary something big that runs fast and can eat your or something that big and FLYS that can eat you.


and thanks you just gave me the idea of changing the robots in my next story into Dragons.

You are quite correct about the fear factor. I suppose that it had not even occured to me. Mind you, one of my favorite movies is Reign of Fire. Now those are scary!

Now that the attack method is fresh in my mind, off to write another chapter.
