I have been experiencing UTIs ever since last June. I have had had courses of antibiotics, a cystoscopy, yeast infections...such a pain! What everybody says to do is to pee before and after sex, and be sure to keep hydrated. I wish you all the best.

I second the "pee immediately after sex" recommendation. Also, make sure he doesn't so much as rub up on your ass before having sex with you--lots of UTIs are caused by spreading bacteria from the anus to the urethra. IOW, no anal-to-vaginal sex. Get a good soap that is Ph balanced for delicate areas (not too hard to find) and use that after sex, as well--normal soap will temporarily destroy your body's natural bacterial protection. And finally, get on good speaking terms with your GP; I do it right and I still get UTIs. Grrr.

When you get one, drink a lot of cranberry juice. I never used to like it, now I drink it like mad cause I love it. I haven't gotten a single bacterial infection "down there" in a few years, since I became so addicted to cranberry juice.

I started drinking it after a UTI during a pregnancy, and the ob nurse suggested it. It does help, not sure how, but it does.

Cleanliness is a key factor, no matter hoe clean you think you or a partner are, it never hurts to keep a tub of baby wipes handy, and do a quick wipe down. It can be a form of fore play to 'clean' your partner, and to have him clean you. ;)

I can't agree more. I drink sugar-free cranberry juice daily and I haven't had any problems, whatsoever. It's definitely worth a try!

i heard that if your guy is uncircumsized then it will encourage it.
mine is uncircumsized and is always clean, but i still get them.

any info or help is good.

Only if he is not clean!

A transfer of anal to vaginal can also cause problems.

If he is really big you might be tearing a little and that too can be a cause.

Sometimes certain medications like penicillon <-- however it is spelled can cause yeast infections too.

Keep it clean and clean the clam after should cut down on it!

First thing you should look at is his hands. Does he keep them clean? Same for the fingernails. His hands/fingers can bring quite a bit of bacteria with them.

Also important to remember if you are using a ...um... a toy and it falls on the floor and you step on it, don't forget to wash it off before you use it.

Well at least that is what I have heard :D

I have heard all the same things about drinking cranberry juice. I couldn't find one that I could stand the taste of until someone suggested that I try sugar-free cran-grape (cranapple and grape). Love the taste, low calorie... and it seems to definitely help!

Good luck!

Also, keep in mind that caffeine can make UTI's worse. So, if you drink a lot of soda/caffeine, you may want to cut back.
