So I don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but here goes: I just logged into my account for the first time in a while and found myself with an odd little puzzle on my hands. One of my stories in a series I've published -- Emilia's Exorcism Pt. 04 -- has a total of 72399 views. Pretty decent, right?
But here's the thing -- none of the other parts of that series have anywhere close to those numbers. Part 1 has 14481 views. Parts 2 and 3 above 11k views. And none of the remaining chapters after Part 4 even break 8.5k. You'd figure that the first chapter would have the most views, since that's the start of the story, right? Then dropping off as people lose interest. And the favorites don't follow the pattern set by the views at all. Only 1 person has favorited Part 4, compared to 12 who favorites Part 1.
So what is going on here? Why has Part 4 specifically received such a disproportionate amount of views? Is it some kind of analytics bug, or does the recommendation engine really like it for some reason? Going by Google dorking, there doesn't seem to be anyone linking to that particular part out there. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
