I would somewhat agree with you. I'd say there were more than a significant number, but certainly not all, or maybe even a majority.

Maybe it's a symbol of American stereotyping, or maybe it's because that there seemed to be a lack of regret (stress on seemed) from the Muslim community of the attacks.

Most of America sees things in black-and-white. If you want to know why Americans hate Muslims, look no further.
