why do you come to lit?

Since I've come to the boards, I've probably met more truly intelligent people than I've ever known in my life. Makes for some extremely interesting reading!

Originaly I came here for the RP boards. I read like maybe one story before finding the boards. Now, I mostly hang around the Gen board to goof off a little and read the threads.

I actually left another group where the purpose is to discuss all kinds of topics in an intelligent manner. Every single topic there turns into a flame war - sometimes about the tiny tiny details or about someone reading into an email something that wasn't there. I know, that happens here, too. But no where near to the same extent. When I left, I told the coordinator I was going to stick with a porn site bb where the conversation is much more stimulating and much more intelligent than the group that was supposed to be made up of all smart people. I told him I felt more comfortable here at the porn bb. I'm betting they never got a resignation quite like that before. I still lurk there, but now I just read and don't respond. Sometimes the topics ARE good. It is just hard to cut through the crap to get to the good stuff.

You guys already took all the answers. I started visiting this site for the stories, then found Chat, then the SRP board and finally found my way onto the General Board. I rarely visit the char room anymore though I do still have several stories currently working on the SRP board.

But its mostly escape. When I have a little time or when I don't but need to clear my head, I come in and for a little while the real world crap can be put away while I flirt, debate, and argue with a bunch of great folks.

Well as I have ssaid before, I have no clue how in the hell I came to Lit, but once I got to looking around and saw the rp boards I decided to stay. It was a place where I could write anyhting and not worry about it. Then I came to the general board and started posting............havent left yet and dont intend too.
