Why do women wear wedding ring on right hand?

I've always wondered this, see it a lot in porn. Tried googling it one day, didn't come up with much of an explanation. Anyone know?

I always have..as with my Mrs..
An 'old' European/Scandinavian tradition I believe.!?!

A lot of times, if it's a picture, the image is reversed. It's in reality on her left hand.

Another explanation could be that the ring is not at all a wedding ring. My wife wears a ring that looks like a wedding ring but isn't, on her right hand. So do I, . Sentimental reasons
