and other cities or towns where the weather is always bad.

Buffalo has now had 100 inches of snow this winter. Keep in mind that 'official' winter is not even 1 month old. That's just over 8 feet of snow in just about three weeks.

My guess is they can't leave because they're all snowed in.

Cause for the other 7-8 months of the year we forget how rotten our winters really are? And we need something to bitch about?

It's all perspective...

Here in Atlanta, the winter of 2000 will be talked about for years.

"Y'all 'member them fo-uh inches we got back then?"

"Ay-yep. Dang cold, too."

"How 'bout dem Dawgs?"

You can keep your 8 feet and we will keep our 4 inches. :D

I live in Kansas where the summer highs can be over 110 and the winter lows are subzero. But I gave up Hawaii to come back here. It's what I grew up with. I like the different seasons. I like the familiarity. I like being able to tell my kids "You should've seen the snow we had back in '80!"
I think it's the roots. Some people just grow attached to a place.

Roots, someone said roots. Are mine showing? Oh, I don't dye my hair. Oopsy. Its the 118 inches of snow out there.
I live here because I love it. Love the change, love the excitement. This city has everything I could ask for, while not having too high a crime rate. Yet, I live far enough out that I am not stuck inner city. The summers are super, the falls with all the colors incredible, the springs a slow easy awakening filled with sounds and sights you dream of all winter.
I am addicted.

Only if you look closely and believe me I do!

But.. now I know where to visit especially if I can see those falls you have nearby

To those who wonder, yes, I live in the middle of the Great Lakes region. Water, water everywhere...
and not a drop to drink.
Sorry. Not true, but it slipped out. I am in a wierd mood today, so watch out. I might start spouting poetry and twisted lyrics.

"We've got five years, what a suprise, five years, thats all we got, five years, my brain hurts alot"

Ok twisted enough for you? Even if I did misquote slightly bet you could still name song, album, and artist, hell probably year of release too.

Okay, I confess, it was the amber waves of grain that drew me back from the balmy pacific....damn! I think I need my head examined :)

I have no idea how I did that!! My mind must have been all muddled from reading a very sexy story about Ares....

I showed my Roots, and just look what happened to me.

Um let me guess... you got screwed?

Last time I heard that phrase was ten years ago... small things...

Because it's better than living in a buffalo?

100 inches, gawd I can't wait to get home. Snow starts in September stops in May. 8 feet is a token dump. Valdez, Alaska averages 36 feet per year.

PS Alex Hailey spelled it Kunte Kinte

I miss Western NY! I don't miss February (I maintain that by then, the snow falls from the sky dingy) but I miss the summers because there's a festival every weekend. It's like people can't wait to get out and celebrate the Sun God.

I live about 45 min east of Buffalo and I'm thankful everyday that I don't LIVE there. The weather sucks ass even in the summer. Well it sucks here too, just not as much.

I have neighbors here on Lit? ::grins evilly::
