This is a serious question. I've seen it again and again on the GB - some issue related to transgender folk that's, as far as I can tell, of no actual consequence to the everyday lives of 99.99% of the population, seems to get people amazingly worked up. Seeing as I don't come in contact with people who find this sort of thing upsetting in my everyday life, I'm curious as to what motivates people's extreme dislike of anything trans, or even have a negative reaction to specific issues.
It would be cool to get some considered responses to the question, so if anyone just wants to call me a lunatic ... well, I guess it doesn't matter so much, but it's a bit silly. If you're responses are based on something you're presented as 'fact', I'd also really appreciate some evidence to back that up, not just 'everyone knows', or 'the media is full of ...' whatever.
