Why do people contact you for private chat?

A lot of my conversations on here go like this:

Stranger: "Hi, how are you?"
Me: "I'm good, thanks. How are you?"
Stranger: "I'm good too".

Then nothing. Maybe they feel that all conversations should be traded one message for one message, but when people reach out to me, I expect them to have at least something on their mind beyond "Hi"

Exactly.

Sadly, Literotica requires virtually no information from its member and we dont even know whether these people are real or not.

Friggin frustrating.

Hmmm. I have had different experiences. Most folks have read my profile or are responding to another post I made, so that usually lets them start with a decent question. Only a few people have been deceptive, and it was somewhat obvious - if they were pressuring me into something that didn’t feel right.

I also remember how nervous I was when I started out, so if they are new to Lit, I offer to answer questions or see what they are looking for on here.

It’s helped me make a lot of friends!

I've had a similar experience as you, R. My posts and replies to various threads along with my bio info usually attract pms from those who share my kinks and desires. I'm very open as to what turns me on and my need to pleasure others.

These folks have obviously read my Profile and ask relevant questions. I answer them honestly and try and engage in a conversation, but just dont get a response after generally the second contact.

None have had a Profile filled out, so basically you have no idea whether you're dealing with a real person, or just someone/something building up stats on the Site.

Your expectations are appropriate. “Hi” is not sufficient.
If the message makes no mention of who they are and why they are contacting me, I ignore them.
However, if they say, “Hey, I read your profile and we have such-and-such in common!” Or, “I saw you in the forum discussing random private chats and I liked what you said!” Then I am likely to respond.

Yep, you get that in the second contact from them, so you respond in some depth to build up dialogue and connection, then................. *crickets*.

I'm starting to think I'm as boring as fuck !!!! 😄😄😄😄😄😄

People only want one thing and it’s disgusting lol. Not really but most do only want a single thing and when you don’t immediately provide it they get weird
