Why do I/You argue politics on Literotica of all places?

Bill Cosplay inadvertently inspired this thread. I'm just curious.

Some trolls troll for fun, others don't even know that they are trolls.

I'm in this mostly for the fun. I think all (or near enough it might as well be all) politicians are corrupt. I do believe people should be free to make something of their lives or fail miserably ON THEIR OWN.

That puts me to the right, I suppose, but the pols there are no better than the others. They just say less of the wrong things.

I had no plans to talk/argue politics on here. I have a different forum for that that's more civilized .

I used to read here, then I tried the chatroom (dead/untrustworthy and I have someone, so ....) and then I came to the playground, played a little there, looked around other rooms and in the politics forum there are some interesting people.

I made a comment to people and about people who hate Trump so much that they are actually just like him and worse in some respects ... that kind of hypocritical thinking made me use my fingers.

It's funny, because while I'm independent, I agree that Trump is bad for the country (though choosing him over Hilary was important for several reasons) ... but to get to the point, I don't so much as discuss what I believe (here) as much as I point out the flaws with the people who behave just like the person they claim to hate, down to the lying and close-minded thinking.

I don't like extremism in any form of politics and in truth, I'm getting tired of this politics board. It's Trump this and Trump that, the same detractors posting the same arguments in the same tone, while everyone else (including me) points out how flawed the more insane of them are. I don't enter every thread, and not just because I have about four people who start them blocked.

Here is another thing too: I like forums. They keep me busy when I'm not keeping myself busy while working. I'm on vacation, and yet I still find quiet ways to log onto some places.

What's funny is if RoryN hadn't tried to play Feinstein with me (see my signature) in an immature way of trying to get me to stop talking, I probably would have stuck to the playground. Now, I'm here just a little bit longer than I would have been.

I'm a believer in critical thinking and often catch multiple news sources and then parse them down to for me what is most likely the real truth hidden in the slants.

However when you look in the forum or discussion section of those news sites or stories you get TONS of partisan hacks effectively yelling into an echo chamber because 90% of the people on that site have the same view points, that's their only source of information, and they keep feeding on each other.

If I have 15 sources of a story and 14 of them are saying mostly the same thing and one is the outlier - the outlier is most likely slanted, partisan, and bullshit. But the people who read and respond to the one source champion it like its the coming of the second Christ.

As for Lit, I get an opportunity to read a microcosm of differing people's opinions and political beliefs in one place without wading through so much shit (except for Busybody XXV and that nutter urguyscott - those guys' are fucking lunatics - had Breitbart freebasing into theirfucking carotid). So I often poke in here once or twice a day, read the latest and then go on with my life.

Sadly . . . I don't.

I tired to. I've been here a long time. And in the post 9/11 world there was a great need for political clarity.

But the Russian bots were here before they were in other social media. Sure, you could put them on Iggie, and carry on. Sometimes I did. But, in the end, this was just not a place to change hearts and minds because the haters and the bots make it too much work, when the world is filled with real life places where we can, each one, make a difference.

Unlike most coming to an erotic story site to argue politics irrelevantly and impotently, I'm already here, contributing stories to the site, and I dip into the discussion board to take a break from the actual purpose of Literotica--again, unlike most who are arguing politics on Literotica.

Well, well. I participate little, but I like to watch. You know through a keyhole from a far away, and then sometimes shout something just to attempt to stir things a bit, but rarely heard. Now why I bother if I have no horses in the race? Well, where I'm from everything is global politics. When you live in a country that cannot defend itself against its defined main threats, global politics feel more real I suppose. So I see changes in the Trump's cabinet, and I think, okay, so how this change security situation of my country. Because it does. Because my country's independence is dependent on intricate balance of power on global stage, and US is a key part of that balance, so everything that happen there have a direct meaning for us too.

If somebody chooses this Literotica forum to discuss political ideas, then I'm guessing that he (or she) must feel pretty strongly about them, which I suppose can be considered to be a good thing? And if they write something of interest that I feel a need to respond to, then so be it.

But these posts about automatically HATING anybody who don't share your political beliefs are just silly. It's like if you didn't vote for Barack Obama, you're a racist. Or, if you didn't vote for Hillary Clinton, you hate women. Donald Trump is supposedly a racist womanizer who abused women, but Bill Clinton apparently respected women because he supported abortion rights? It's all politically-correct claptrap that makes no sense anymore.

At first I came here to try and talk some sense into people. Failed. Miserably. Left for a while and then came back because it's kinda like a train wreck. You can't believe what you're seeing, and it scares the shit out of you but you just can't look away.

Now I log in, look at the thread titles and realize that in 15 years our country is going to be run by middle aged, ignorant, arrogant self-centered self important, self-entitled, two faced hypocrites who tell you they want peace then turnaround and start riots because they didn't get their way. They'll tell you they are all about diversity and against hate speech, then insult you 100 ways to Sunday because you don't want to be like them. They tell you they want an honest, open, intellectual, rational discussion, then as soon as you make a valid point they act like Beavis and Butthead, call you childish names and try their damnest to derail the conversation so no one can address the actual point.

In 15 years our country will be run by fat, lazy freeloading, 12 yr olds who will still be sucking mama's teat when they're 40.

DAMN! I'm glad I won't live that long.
