1. Because people died for your right to vote.
2. Because if you don't someone might steal your vote in a postal ballot, either this one or another vote later.
3. Because it is part of your responsibility as a citizen to take part in the democratic process.
4. Because if you don't vote, someone who thinks only with their prick might elect someone you don't like.
5. If you can't vote for some party, you should vote against the one you hate most.
6. Add your own reasons...

..because the lunatic fringe thrives on the apathy of ordinary people

Because Europe is only as strong as the weakest of its members. Wise up.

That's how I judge a male strip show.

Because Og says so.

Shouldn't that, like, be enough?

Because if you don't vote, then you have no right to complain about 'the damn government' when the one that does get in, sets up laws and procedures that you don't like, or negatively affect your life.

Og:
You left out the most compelling reason. El Cinco de Mayo (The Fifth of May) is the most important Mexican holiday of the year. Clearly, whoever scheduled the British election for 5 May is tryingt to court the British Mexican vote.

Any Mexican wetbacks currently residing in Great Britain should immediately be conscripted into their Olympic Swimming Competition Program.

Mat.. does that mean that I can't complain about the damn BRIT govt?... I don't get to vote for em!

Why May the 5th? dont the buggers realise how long it's gonna take me to trundle from "The secret Location" to Tonbridge in my beast?

I'll be lucky to get back by dark at @45-50 MPH

I'm at the other end of Kent. At least Tonbridge is close to Sussex and the M25. I'd have to drive for over an hour to get to Tonbridge or longer depending on the traffic.

Tony Blair must have been lurking on this thread. Now we know who at least one of the trolls is.

Yes, he's also Svet.

As for why we should vote... I can't think of any new reasons, all of the above sound like bloody good reasons to me.

EVERYBODY MUST VOTE! It's your duty.

Now that you know Why to vote . . .

The next question is How to vote.

One suggestion . . .

How to vote: "Vote early and vote often!"
