Whose side are you on

I'm on the side of people who have all tweets blocked with a browser addon.

Free Palestine. That's not even a hard choice even if I'm 100% certain this is fake one way or another.

I am always against any type of protesting that obstructs another's liberty. Anyone doing so should be arrested and charged.

That being said, every person makes their own choice based on the level of risk for their cause. They should not expect that laws will be suspended for their cause nor should their demands expect such action.

Violence is a red line.

I love it, the gays were FOR the Philistine terrorists and now THEY are being terrorized. It just don't get no better.

Why is violence a red line?

Yah, that's a tough one to figure out.

Honestly it is. Stop me when I get it something historically inaccurate.

There was a huge war the 'Seven Year' or 'French and Indian War' if you prefer fought between the British and the French during a time when the colonies WERE Brits. This cost them a tremendous amount of money much of which was on our behalf. When the time came to pay the bills people peacefully attacked ships, most famously in Boston for some kind of party in order to cause political change. I'm really bad at history. I think there is a term for people who use violence and cause property damage in the name of getting the government to bend to their will.

Oh. PEACEFUL PROTEST DONE THE RIGHT WAY. Those are the words.

Some things happened, the Brits lost for a lot reasons. After that the same people who had just overthrown someone asking them to pay the bills decided (or so we're told, the more you look into the actual history the more complex it really gets) that the average citizen should be able to arm themselves encase the government for whatever reason got out of control.

I have no idea how slavery ended. No matter how you parse it I'm pretty sure it wasn't strongly worded letters or even boycotting southern agricultural goods. Which honestly I'm not sure that boycotts are really "non violent" but okay lets let that one slide.

Women . . .okay here is the exception that proves the rule since to my knowledge no violence has been directly attributed to the Sufferage movement. That may be my relative ignorance of that specific part of American history.

Lets fast forward a bit. I remember hearing about this one guy who was against using violence in the 60s. His reward for protesting the right way was the exact same as his contemporary who shall simply be called Magneto X. They both died of old age in the early 2000s!

Do you want to talk about how Mexico gained indepence from Spain? I guess we could talk about India as if WW1 totally didn't happen and the entire global Empire broke up during those decades.

The reality is that "Protest the right way. Protest Peacefully. You lose credibility when you bother other people" are AT BEST the words of someone privileged enough that this problem is not their problem. I don't live in Palestine, I'm not a college student. To the best of my knowledge nobody in my family is currently enrolled in college but I have nieces and nephews I've never met so. . .maybe?! So Israel killing kids and cops busting skulls affects me FAR less than the people trying to get a stop sign put up three blocks from my house and forcing me to go two blocks out of my way.

REally they are starting piss me off.

At worst and on average however it is the language of the oppressor.

If you are unwilling to get blood on your hands to accomplish your goals maybe your goals aren't worth achieving.

Either that or taxes are FAR worse than literally everything done to blacks and women LEGALLY as recently as the 70s to say nothing of things like the messages being sent when say Abbot pardons murder.

Violence shouldn't be step one or even two. But if you take it off the table you don't deserve the rewards.

I have no issue saying that violence is a red line.

You can vomit up some diatribe of historical context if you like.....I won't change my mind.

In which case you really don't genuinely stand for anything and really deserve nothing.
Whatever makes you feel better about advocating for violence. 👍 There is always a non violent alternative...it just requires more time and effort.

How long is acceptable? Your children? Your grand children? It might never happen? I feel line about advocating for violence. I'm a fucking American.

It seems like just yesterday that gay pride was being flaunted on behalf of their haters.

Very Christian of them.

One thing that we have learned from the 13th century onwards; if you just give Islam a little time, it will moderate, when it looks around and sees that no one is left. You see, it's a young religion, it's just kind of insecure, it needs a bigger, badder region to take it over its knee..., but until then, we can live as an example for it. Turn the other cheek. Invite them to church, or a pig roast, BBQ! fireworks by martyr..., Oh, this little light of mine...,

Wat is truly the shining example of Moderate 21st Century Islam.

Of course, you might get that chance to get sorted out by papa Allah . . . .

Perhaps because I add some Zen to my Islam.

Jeebus was way more Zen than he let on . . . .

Peter go get your sword!

They have hundreds of them my Lord.

Okay, Peter, work with me on this one, maybe we can bluff them.

Bluff them? With what? One sword?

My holy piety schtick.

When they kneel,

Yes, my lord...,

RUN!!!
