When your young son comes to you crying do you ever
tell him to stop because "big boys don't cry".
Do me a favour,don't. You could fuck his life up
for years to come.

My Dad used to do this and after a while I didn't cry
no matter what. I couldn't even cry when my mum died
when I was 8 years old. I was well into my 30's before I
learned how to release my feelings.

So if you don't want to mess your son's life up for years to
come,let him cry when he needs to.

Son or Daughter, or just a child I know, when they cry, I always ask "where does it hurt?"

Those who know me for very long soon get to know that I think there are three kinds of crying: Pain, Sorrow, and Fear. Pain and Sorrow are good reasons to cry.

Crying in fear keeps you from dealing with what you are afraid of.

big boys dont cry.... i'm a long way from ever being a boy, let alone a big one... i always got "you dont want to be a crybaby, do you?" and up until a few months ago, i refused to cry, let alone in front of someone else... and for me to cry in front of other people takes more strength from me than i care to share most of the time

THAT is the best advice, and I for one am taking it to heart.

I will never tell my son, who is five, that big boys don't cry, I take him I hug him and I let him know that he should let it all out.

He doesn't cry that often cause he is such a happy kid, but if and when he does, that's what I do.

People that have son's please listen to the advice given so soundly. That way we end up with less dickheads in the world and nicer men.

A word of warning. If you have
been in this position there is a
tendency to go to the opposite extreme
with your own kids.

I'm pleased that my boys are not cry babies
but they're not tough as nails,as I was.
