I've always heard about it, but I've never got off my butt and gone. The aerial pics of the place make it look super crowded. Is it really that bad? What's parking like? How many stages are there? How many are playing at the same time? How long are the sets? Somebody out there has the answers.

It really is THAT bad. Forget about parking, unless you're up for a long walk. Take the bus. I don't recall exactly how many stages, but several. You really have to pick and choose which bands you want to see, and more likely than not, two of them will be performing at the same time, so you'll miss one of them. The organizers suggest you make a schedule before hand to decide who you really want to see.

And be careful of bogus tickets. Last year some were sold. And the buyers had no idea they were fakes.

If you enjoy being in the midst of huge crowds, feelings of frustrations because you can't see all the band you want to see, and riding city buses, it's the place to be in September. If not, I'd pass. I won't be attending ever again. But that's just my take on it.

I've been once..and it was seven years ago. My experience was a very positive one. It was crowded, but the crowd was a very happy and friendly one. I was able to see all of the bands that I wanted to see.....but the lines for beer and wine were outlandish.

I am thinking about going this year....Friday and Saturday. Have you looked at the websight? You can look into the parking and transportation situation there...as well as buy your tickets so you aren't ripped off.

Maybe I'm spoiled....

But it looks like it could be a drag. No seats, huge crowds, less than state of the art sound systems. Am I wrong? I am trying to talk myself into making the trip down that way for Saturday. I mean James Brown, George Clinton & P Funk, Kenny Wayne Shepard and Melissa Etheridge all in the same day! Anybody else got input? Give me the pluses and minuses of the Street Scene!
