Who???

yeah, and Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.

He's always said that...

*whispers* Pod people!

Gee, maybe he's just playing the role of dear dad and supporting his daughter...who is a lesbian

Why shouldn't Cheney come out in support of gays marrying? He is probably closer to the issue than most prominent politicians. As VP, he was loyal to his boss, and couldn't say anything positive on the subject, but he is no longer bound by that.

Here's my theory:
1. He's an old man trying to get into heaven.
2. He thinks this will work like reverse psychology.

And pregnant.

Ayup, she and her partner are expecting their first. Best wishes to them for a healthy child. And considering some of the minor press thats been released on occasion about ol' Dick, I'm sure the child with enjoy the doting of a loving grandfather.

The day people realize that sexual politics is as big a loser as gun control, this country will be much better off . . . and able to go on to some genuine issues instead of all the hot air!

Dis W ever actually come out and say that Iraq or Saddam was connected to 911? I know he has been accused of doing so, and and that he sometimes spoke of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, but did he ever say it was Saddam's doing?

Did Hitler know about Pearl Harbor? He probably knew an attack was planned, but maybe not all the details.

That will also be the day that liberals and conservatives understand that they have a job...and thats to serve the people, instead of themselves...

Yep. All this time she's been a lesbian with a faithful partner and all this time he's not only been silent on the issue, but leading a party that used the threat of gay marriage to scare voters into voting for them. "If you don't vote for us, gays will marry!" Eek! Vote Bush-Cheney!

I call that ironic hypocrisy. To make it more ironic, he kept insisting over and over again that his daughter's sexuality should not be brought into politics. And that was right, his daughter's shouldn't have been brought into politics...except that every other gay person's sexuality was being used politically by Cheney and Bush. But, hey, at least his daughter was left out of it, right?

I do so love the way Cheney has managed to have his cake and eat it, too.

Lucky for him, he's no longer in office, no longer needs to court people to get votes, and so can play the role of supportive dad...it ain't too late for that is it?

I think it might be appropriate to point out that the current president is no advocate of gay marriage either. Neither was Clinton or any other president. In fact, Cheney might even be the first national politician to actually say something positive, or at least not negative, on the subject.

Should also be worthwhile to note that:

In the 2000 election he said the matter should be left up to the states.

In the 2004 election he said "With the respect to the question of relationships, my general view is freedom means freedom for everyone. People ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to." Which, by the way, pissed off Bush

Gee sounds like he's been a supporter for quite a while.

Yeah, what I said before.... For: 1 Against: 4,307 :(

(in case you're wondering that is the current US death toll in Iraq)

Never mind.

That's the "two wrongs make a right" argument. Their sins don't excuse his.

I know that, but I think it is interesting to point out that the man who has been castigated for years may turn out to be more fair than the man who was been lavishly prised for the last year.
