My memory ain't so good of late.
I have one my PC, amongst the detritis of attempted stories one draft sent to me ages ago, called "Halfway to Nowhere."
It is incomplete but it is a damned good bit of writing.
Can someone please tell me the Author and whether it made it to the board - please?

Maybe some story details would help. If it was posted, it might have had a title change.

Use this. I've found it immensely helpful while searching for long lost stories.

Thanks for that useful information.

I quote:-
"Chapter 1
At twenty-four, Angie Barrett had slept in more strange beds than she cared to admit. Her back ached almost as much as her head did. Working day and night didn't silence the demons wreaking havoc on her mind. The young woman was ready for a change and Route 66 called to her soul. She realized she didn't even need a specific destination as long as she followed the popular highway.
A week later, she was Halfway to Nowhere.
"

Of course, it could be trhat the Author binned the whole thing. I hope he/she didn't, though. I have about 25,000 words of it so far!

Attempt to Google a fair bit of text have failed (it seems Google only now takes 18 words, for some obscure reason).

Nothing googling Angie Barrett and Route 66 in various combinations.

Considering I have five near-final draft stories for everyone I've ever submitted, and that most of them will never get finished, I'd say the author bagged it and moved on.

Nope. Just put it to the side to complete other pieces first.
