Who would you pick?

Liz Cheney is a garden variety right-winger. Let's not give her too much credit just because she did the right thing once.
I wouldn’t say garden variety. There are differences of opinion on how things should be done, but at the end of the day she made the choice that was best for the country.

The current Republican’ts are far from doing that- it’s all about a draconian return to the era of the crusades and there needs to be more like her to stand up to it.

Actually, the current Republicans were right there with her until they weren’t.

Until they wanted to kiss the ring of the grifter in chief. When they realized how dumb their supporters have become to fall for this sham of a leader they fell in line since they didn’t want primary challenges. If they knew that the criminal in chiefs primary winners would get destroyed in the general election as much as they have they might have had more of a backbone… but when you can’t stand for something you fall for anything.

The Dems have a severe case of "You're either with us or against us." I can't go along with that, especially when so many Dem policies and planks now are plain batshit. But the Pubs have their own fits of batshit. Voting for least batshit is usually the best I can do.
Even if I agreed with that, the fact remains that you claimed to be calling for the Dems to appeal to swing voters, but you named candidates whose only distinguishing characteristic is that they alienate the Democratic base. That is fundamentally different from appealing to swing voters.

I am more of a tail than a butt. 🐈‍⬛

Which Dem policies are batshit?

Which Dem policies are batshit?

I’m pretty sure some of these low information voters conflate “the far left” with the Democratic.Party.

The policies President Biden and Democrats have prioritized, have been those supported by the majority of the American people.

Democrats are center left progressives.

👍

It’s the "republicans" and corrupt "republican" judges who have been prioritizing policies and laws that the majority of Americans oppose.

"republicans" are far right fascists.

Jeff Flake would have been a tolerable Republican, someone of that ilk - principled, not beholden to the Trump agenda, policies I don’t agree with but that are coherent and wouldn’t ruin the country or target innocent people.

Oh woh, just looked more at his voting record… shit it shows how far the GOP has sunk that someone like him seems reasonable on first thought.
Let’s say Susan Collins instead

There used to be plenty of Republicans ready and willing to criticise Trump. Unfortunately they have shown themselves totally unsuitable of leadership by folding up their principles and shitting on them as soon as Trump yelled in their direction.

Remember what DeSantis said during his leadership challenge? He's not saying it now. It's pathetic.

If you look at their policies, Democrats have been aligned for years with center to center-right European parties. It's only because the Republican party was further right that they were able to call the Dems 'left'.

Now the MAGAT party is so far extreme-right and fond of calling the Democratic party 'Commies' (just to show their lack of education) that other countries are looking on in disbelief.

Yeah, I was basically suggesting that the Democratic Party is center left progressive “at best”.

Certainly NOT “left”.

Absolutely NOT “far left”.

🇺🇸

Haley for the Republicans, she has some good ideas.

Gabbard as an independent and would have been my dem pick had she not changed to indy

Democrats? Fetterman all day long. Love that the Dems pushed hard for him, thinking they had another progressive, and he's been pushing back on all of their bullshit. He cares about the working class and every day folks like they're all supposed to, but few do. I'd vote for him if he ran now, and if he runs in the future if he stays true to his values.

For example:
Ethanol subsidies and requirements for gasoline. Ethanol reduces engine life, costs energy to produce, and reduces mpg.

Pushing electric vehicles. Generally all the greenwashing and green virtue signalling.

Gender transition surgery and hormones for kids far too young for adult decisions.

Affordable Care Act, more of a corporate scam than batshit.

Pushing worthless college degrees with lifetime debt on high school kids. The well paying white collar jobs are vanishing. Young adults need vocational skills training. This may also be called a scam. The colleges get the money and kick some back to the Dems.

Everything covid, especially the requirements to get shots that are weakening most of the world's population and may eventually kill billions.

And the wars, basically all the foreign policies and positions they copied from Bush and Cheney. Obama appointing Clinton as Sec State was as batshit as Trump appointing Bolton, but Clinton stayed for years. Trump fired Bolton.

Which aren't batshit might be the shorter list.

Trump Administration Invests Up To $100 Million to Increase American Biofuel Sales
Medicare Plus is a straight corporate scam and the proponents of it should be jailed.

Trump had years to follow up on his campaign promise to reform Affordable Care (to make it unaffordable care), failed miserably.

Trump's entire University was a fraud.

Trump's vaccine (as he wanted it to be called) would have saved millions of lives but he surrendered to the QAnon batshits and suggested ingestion of bleach/shining torches inside bodily orifices instead and watched his voters die.

Trump ordered the withdrawal from Afghanistan without proper succession planning; Biden delayed the process to get something in place but to no avail.

He made some errors for all sorts of reasons. His giant ego may be the smallest reason. His worst error, the vax push, is a large part of why I plan to vote third party this time.

Good move. RFK Jr is clearly the best choice for true conspiracy theorists.

Medicare Plus shows what privatization of government services can become! Corporations have one purpose! Money and Greed!! Look at how many claims they allow.
I can’t believe the waste that is allowed to continue!

Why do they get to use “Medicare” in their name when it’s just NOT!!?

Unfortunately third party has no chance of being President.

Keep in mind, with anything pertaining to clean energy, the Republicans are solidly in the pocket of Big Oil and the Dems can only do so much with slender majorities at best in Congress. But exactly what is "batshit" about phasing out fossil fuels in favor of cleaner energy options, especially since sooner or later we're going to need an alternative?
Gender transition surgery and hormones for kids far too young for adult decisions.
I suspected you were just conflating right-wing propaganda with reality, and sure enough, you are. Literally no one is advocating for this. What we are calling for is age-appropriate care and, more fundamentally, letting trans kids know their identity is valid.
Affordable Care Act, more of a corporate scam than batshit.
I'd have to agree with this one, but then even you say it's not batshit. What it is, is the best Obama could get through Congress when the Republicans were adamantly opposed to any health care reform whatsoever. Lest we forget, it got its start as an alternative put forth by a conservative think tank. Hardly a left-wing idea.
Pushing worthless college degrees with lifetime debt on high school kids.
Which is exactly why we support student loan forgiveness.
The well paying white collar jobs are vanishing. Young adults need vocational skills training. This may also be called a scam. The colleges get the money and kick some back to the Dems.
As someone who was in and out of higher education for the better part of twenty years, that doesn't fit my experience at all.
Everything covid, especially the requirements to get shots that are weakening most of the world's population and may eventually kill billions.
Exactly what makes you think the vaccine is doing that?

When it comes to foreign policy, people like you bash the Dems no matter what they do. Besides, Biden got us out of Afghanistan.
Which aren't batshit might be the shorter list.
From the perspective of the "I'm not a Republican but" gang, anyway.
