I just recieved a very interesting feedback from a reader. She loved the story captive hearts and wondered who i would pick to play the parts of Lissa and Abigail if it were made into a Hollywood movie. I honestly never thought about it, but I have spent the last fifteen minutes playing with it and have had a ball.

Have any of you guys ever tried to cast the roles in one of your stories? If so who did you pick?

Geena Davis came immediately to mind when I read Captive Hearts, but that is probably because she played a red-headed pirate in a movie.

I've been casting my book in my head since I started on it. It actually helped me visual parts of the book. And besides, it's always fun to speculate. The thing is, if they ever make my book into a movie I hope I'm not too disappointed if they get the "wrong" people. LOL.

I had really never considered it. I think the woman who played trinity in the matrix would make a good lissa. She has the right blend of athletisism and sensuality, plus her eyes are wild like I imagined Lissa's to be. I had no idea for Abigail, still don't.

Geeena Davis would be good too :)

I pretty much always cast my major speaking roles. It doesn't hurt that I think so cinematically when I write, too..

A friend once told me that the lead character in my ongoing story looked like a haggard Hugh Grant. I had never thought about it, but she was right. One of the female characters would definitely be Rachel Wiesz. :D

Who would you cast to play Dev Raphy?

Har, it's tougher, now. The first time I ever wrote Dev, it was back in the late 80s, and I had Clint Eastwood down for him. Clint in his Unforgiven/In The Line Of Fire age. Unfortunately, he's 10 years older now ..

Out of today's actors, I'm not sure who I'd pick. Maybe Harrison Ford, since he has that same tall, rangy older look. Dev's well over 6 feet tall and on the wrong side of 50. Looks older, but moves like a much younger man.

I think about this sometimes ... who'd be good as a certain character (or which voice-actors would be good if anything was ever done in an animated version; I still daydream of David Bowie as the voice of the main elf in my fantasy novels). Once, for fun, I created a character in a horror novel whose main problem in life was that he was often mistaken for Jeff Goldblum.

I like this question. One of my stories I defiently would do as a hollywood film would be "my brother, my lover"

I'd love to cast Paul Walker as the part of Nathan Adams l and Amy Smart as Callie Adams *s* or could be kirsten Dunst as Callie too *s*
Maybe James Vanderbeek as David and Katie Holmes as Rebecca

I've never really thought about it like that, but...

If I were to cast The Fallen, I would definately have Natalie Portman as Carly. I say this because I based Carly on someone I know only vaguely, but bears a striking resemblance to Natalie Portman as Padme Amidala in Star Wars.

As for the other characters, I really don't know. I can see the faces I have in mind, but don't really know what actors or actresses would best fit into those roles.

ME!

This post makes me think about a comment from an author I like to read. He said that the part of writing that he never thought of as work was when he had to write sex scenes.

Whenever I think about any LIT story, whether my own or someone else's, I want to play the character that gets laid the most. You think I'm going to let Harrison Ford, or Sean Connery get ALL the babes? Not a chance. It's part of of the license agreement <G>

As for female leads. The corollary to the first clause, is to have 'rights of refusal.' Hollywood can cast whoever they want, but I get to say 'no'. ;)

Of course, since most of my characters are 'real', and I usually try to let them have some fun, the people involved might want the chance as well. I would try to let them. After all, they get to have more fun in my stories than they do in real life. ;)

Guess my stuff only will have a chance as 'indy' work.

When I wrote "A Matter Of Trust" Connie Britton of "Spin City" and "The West Wing" fame immediately popped in my mind as the perfect actress to play the character of Aileen. I wouldn't want anyone else in that part but her.

In the current story I'm writing I have a lead female character and I think Angie Harmon would be perfect to play her.
