That came up with idea of having different "classes" of workers.

Yes, I'm not salaried.

No, that does not fucking mean I'm dumb as a brick. Would you like to see my college degree.

I'm sick of being pleasant while being talked down too because of "rank". Fuck your rank!!! You fucking rank!!!

Uh yeah, well... that would be me. I'm the moron. Have a nice night.

It's not that you're not salaried that speaks for your apparent intellect ( or deficit of ...) ...it is your well mannered and highly educated tone and style of expression...

and as to rank...

you will address me as Empress please

Probably us Brits. We're big into 'class'...

Salaried sucks. As Koala says salaried people (except for the top guns), earn too little to make it worthwhile for the bosses to count out all that small change.

So they pay 'em by cheque...

And then on a monthly basis because it still wouldn't be worth their time to do it weekly...

So next time you meet a snobby salaried sneering at you, look them straight in the eye and think in a loud thought "You stupid arsehole!"

You're allowed to show your grin as you think it.

That'll confuse 'em all to hell...

:D

Careful what you wish for. Being salaried mean you ass is theirs. Later hours, longer days...all for the same pay.

Keep your chin up girl!

Is this a rant about the job you were so happy to get which was just perfect for you a few months ago? The one you like so much?

I wouldn't take a salaried position again without an obscene amount of money on the line. I'm talking work for two or three years then retire kind of money.

Salary is paid slavery, they can tell you to work every hour of the day seven days a week and you can either do it or look for another job. Definately NOT worth it.

Maybe it's just me, maybe because I believe in giving my all in whatever I do I get taken advantage of in these situations. All I know is I won't ever do it again.

Yeah, but at least we get to look our noses down at the non-salaried rubes.

I'm thinking maybe this wasn't a good time for this.

I disagree, I think it is a perfect time for it. Sometimes we (or at least I) need to be reminded of the big picture.

We don't all love our jobs every day of our career. But if you have ever been unemployed and fought your way back to find something you love, you don't forget what it was like when you weren't employed. At least I try not to forget. It's too easy in this world to end up back at the starting line in a blink of an eye.

i''ll stick with hourly pay and a union to watch my back.

the way companies are nowdays, you need all the help you can get.

You know what it's like Cheyenne. When you're unemployed, you wish for nothing more than to have a job.

You get one.

Settle in for a few weeks...

Then become a normal human being again...:D

Were I work they even screw the unsalaried employees. They decided to break down the job description in levels. So four people can be down the same job, but be classified at different levels, getting paid dramatically less than the suck up right next to them.

It was a government idea. Somewhere back in antiquity.

This isn't about the "job". The "job" that I was so happy to get a few months ago, I'm still happy to have and I do like it. This rant is about a few assholes who feel like they are better than the rest of us because they are "exempt". This rant is because I don't have the balls to get right back in their faces when they put me down or try to make me feel inferior. This rant is because I'm feeling sorry for myself. This rant is just because it is. I'm human. I complain. I bitch. I whine. I do so here because for the most part I'm allowed to do it without having to feel guilty for feeling that way I do. I do it here because I get tired of talking to plaster walls. I do it here because I need someone to hear me.

And there isn't a thing wrong with ranting, either. :) I do hear you. And I'm glad to hear you still like your job. Everything after that is just odds and ends to deal with if the basis is solid with a job that you like.

I'm not sure what they are doing to "put me down or try to make me feel inferior." But they can't do that, either, unless you let them. Too bad there isn't an "ignore" button in real life, hmmmm?
