who should be the peacekeeping force in afghanistan

What happened? Somebody beat you with a Big Mac as a child or something?

Your anit-Yank agenda is shrill, and smells personal. You have no un-biased point of view to offer about anything American. Nothing you say carries any weight. Blah-blah-blah.

Is there a "Whatever" function?

All I can say is NOT the Americans.... well not a big force of them. I know you are wondering why but here are my reasons. If Osama Bin Laden does survive this then he will see it as Americans intruding on more of holy land and make them even more of a target and the Americans over there might, I'm not saying they will but they might just get into a hell of a lot of shit over there.

I would say that if they did have peace keepers over there then make them from Middle Eastern countries.

America's great achievements in space exploration
America's drive
America's innovation
America's inventiveness
America's love of sports
America's outdoor life style
America's single mindedness
America's will to win
America's people

Marylin Monroe.

wanted to add though is there any reason that england/america shouldnt be a large part of the peace keeping force (under the guise of the UN) ... considoring we did create this mess for thier country

i agree about musilim countrys making up part of the peace keeping force but those countrys probably wouldnt beable to make up the whole amount of troops that were needed

No reason at all...

Apart from Bush!

:(

It is true that the Americans and British did create the mess in the country which is why they shouldn't be the largest force in the peace keepers.

They would be hated for what they have done, blew the crap out of the country just for one person. The Americans would become even more of a target because of this although who would want to screw with them after what they have done?

I think Afghanistan needs a peacekeeping force made up from the Middle East. It should be used primarily for defense against any destabilizing force attempting to enter. The U.S. should be involved only to help get their economy and technology going again. Internet access should be the first technology introduced as it can provides information any individual or school needs for reference.:D

OK I'll try and be sensible...

The UK always has been pro-Arab. We are not exactly anti- Semetic but all our Government policies going back to 1912 have been in favour of the world of Islam.

America is quite well known for being pro-Israeli, or in most people's eyes, pro-Jewish.

If I was an Arab, or a Pakistani, or an Afghan I know which country I would prefer to lead a peace keeping force out of the two main contenders.

It's a sad but true fact of life that America's past policies in the region have really excluded her from being accepted without suspicion.

The UN idea won't work for the same reason. It's seen by the world as an extension of America.

The only heavy weight body that springs to mind is a peace keeping force from the Council of Europe. Although as I just said the UK is predominantly pro Arab there are member countries of the European Union which aren't.

That way you could get the closest you can to a completely non-biased team.

And it's probably something the world of Islam would accept.

I wouldn't wish the job on my worst enemy - seriously. With the Taliban out of the way, the local warlords and tribes will all be aiming to get a slice of the cake, and God (or Allah) help anyone who gets in the way. It's been that way for hundreds of years, out there.

I would add that Americans, English, or Russian "peacekeepers" would cause more violence than they might prevent.

Not, mind you, because they wished to or might do something offensive, but because of who they are, and the history those nations have with Afghanistan.

The English attempted to colonise.
The Russians invaded.
The USA would be seen as just another attempt to subjigate and colonise.

Turkey, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, China, Egypt, or even Isreal would be preferable to any direct invlovlement by the USA, Russia or the UK.

listen you little would be speaking german if it wasn't for us, punk

no other country involved has the military ABILITY to do what has to be done.
oh, and as far as me being the only freethinking honest american? how do you think we got to be the big superpowere while you guys, well, pretty much lost everything you ever gained?

Send in the blue helmets. God knows we are paying them enough for nothing.
