Up until a few days ago, I rarely got PM's at all. Then, after posting about zoloft, my box was filled rather rapidly. It makes me happy that people out there take the time to do that for me, and I appreciate every one I get.

I've actually been flattered to get all but one of the messages left for me - the exception did not get opened. Even the responses when I've initiated the conversation are flattering. Each PM implies, "You're worthy of my time and interest." I'm pretty secure and self-assured, but I do like the validation - don't you? The opposite of affection isn't hate, it's indifference.

I've got an odd stance about privacy - I don't mind being discussed, poked at, observed, or in other ways "used" but I don't give other people's names and issues out as a rule even when they haven't said, "Please hold this in confidence." It's just how I am. Some here have already learned the way I dance around direct answers for this reason

In the spirit of the thread, however, I will say that I was most surprised to get a PM from somebody who had revealed a painful personal issue to the board. It was simply right to offer my insight or support with no expectation of a response, so it was suprising (and delightful) when she took the time to reply to me specifically in spite of a PM list which I am certain was long and active. (There, is it enough to know the gender? That's my approach to it, to hold myself to a standard I do not expect from others.)

I'd say that Bob Peale fella, he's one swell guy, that Bob is. Always has good solid advice to give me in private.

I recieve PM's and emails from several friends here at Lit though, so it's VERY hard to actually say, without feeling guilty that I might make someone upset by not saying their name.

Actually, any PM is nice I can do without some of the over sexual ones (Yes, I did say that) If your going to PM someone for the first time and try to make friends don't start talking about how much you'd run your tongue over their pussy and how hard you'd fuck them. Yes, thats nice, but not in the very first PM, sometimes it's just the wrong damn day to start that stuff

I have received PMs from people on the board that I never would have thought would send me any, some encouraging and helpful, and I feel honored with each one filled with concerned. Makes me feel kinda loved Though sometimes I never get around to getting back at some people, and I hope they don't think I'm a total bitch for not sending one back yet I only have the time to check them and not reply lately, plus the Pm alert thingy doesn't always work for me
