who here likes caviar?

I love oysters, Love love love. With some green tobasco and s squeeze of lemon. They are also low calorie and filling and excellent if low carbing yet feel utterly decadent and very sensual. Six satisfy me happily and don't over fill me.

But, you just swallow them whole, right? How are they delicious? All you tadte is the lemon and Tabasco, and a vaugue hint of cold, salty fishy slime. I had them once, and was like why the hell are these a delicacy?

You can really eat them anyway you like 'Phro. I savor them a bit rather than just swallowing them down. Often I cut larger ones in half in the shell, sometime I give them a chew. Crystal and horseradish go well. Variety, the spice, and all that. But the best way.....the really wonderful way to have them is with nothing at all. If they are good and fresh from the water they don't need a thing and you can eat them as though you were picking them out of the sea yourself. The slightly salty taste of seawater complients them perfectly.
If you know a good shucker and where he or she operates, it's worth seeking out, like many things in New Orleans there is a culture around getting, serving, and eating them that probably isn't quite the same in other places. Oysters remind me of Friday nights at Le Bon temp for free oyster night with good friends and Joe Krown on the piano. I love Austin, but I miss being near the water.

ShrimpnPeas vowed to kill me while dancing and laughing. Alt's were always annoying as shit, but at least they could bring a smile once upon a time.

I got a text while I was reading this. Now I'm terrified you might be a singing pirate.
We're the worst sort, indeed.

As for seafood (see? food!) my partner will bread and fry oysters tonight, hint hint. As soon as they quit playing online games. C'mon, I'm getting hungry!

EDIT: The oysters were good, with tartar sauce.
