Given that front-line medics and people with particular medical vulnerabilities will get which ever vaccine proves effective, who gets it next? Are you in line for a jab? Who's behind you in the queue?

I'm in the line for the last formulation that comes after everyone who got the first (and maybe the second) series have proven that it's non lethal and/or not going to lead to a vegetative state.

But only after they strap me down and stick a needle in my arm by force.

Many of the vulnerable will not be able to tolerate the vaccine and should not risk it in its early incarnations so it will need to go first two those who do care for and work with the vulnerable. I will get one is soon as it's available.

It will go to my brother the high risk obstetric surgeon amongst other healthcare workers, then critical care rehabilitation clinics, then nursing homes then fireman who always get public safety safety equipment first then my brother the policeman before I finally get it. My 81-year-old retired nurse mother will probably be a fairly early subject before it is known how safe it is for the elderly, because other than her age, she has no risk factors.

I will volunteer, assuming it is voluntary. If it becomes compulsory, ill quit what i am doing and simply refuse to be inoculated.

For now it appears that antibody testing is not tremendously accurate and it's also not particularly helpful after a few months when it is not detectable. If and antibody test shows that I've already been exposed then I probably would be exampt anyway and should not bother.

Timmeh and teh NegroWhisperer™ are anti-vaxxers.
Who didn't see this coming?

If I travel, then a certified vaccine may avoid the inconvenience of a quarantine. Otherwise I don't plan to spend for a passing fad.

some of the replies here bear out the study that indicates the public's split roughly 50/50 over whether or not they'll get vaccinated when it's available

i don't care if they don't get it, so long as i do and the fucking selfish cunts can't infect me or mine. let nature take its course amongst them. of course, with all those who DO get vaccinated, those who won't will still be in a better position and less likely to get it.

herd immunity doesn't even begin to kick in till around 75% of the 'herd' has been infected at some time or other. america's a long way off. the virus is going nowhere and may prove to be endemic. what on earth do you base your statement of 'a passing fad'?

Is there a vaccine for your comment because posting it made you retarded.

The fear is fading. For many, the shutdown was a time to reflect and realize they hate their jobs or lives, but most are now over that and ready to resume or change.

You cannot reasonably believe both that the virus is highly transmissible and will take a long time to reach 60-80% of the population.

Either we will find the this disease actually doesn't spread very well or we will all be infected and dead or immune before they can get the vaccine through trials. Currently it looks like the former because they may not have enough infections available ti find out whether the the vaccine works or not.

How many deaths before we reach herd immunity? Can you do the math for me?

Anything more than "fingers 'n toes" is confusing to Conager (remember "40 percent? That's well over half!". He might want to bump that request up to Sensei AJ, who has a degree in "mathmatics" (sic) as he is fond to telling people.

I'll get a vaccine if it has has time to be sufficiently screened for safety and efficacy. Not one of those "Warp Speed" vaccines thrown out there so Trump can have something to put out there just to fill the void left by HCQ going away.

Anti-vaxxers have already made their decision and we should respect their beliefs, in the same way we tolerate flat-earthers all round the globe. I expect to be well down the queue given my age.

We can break down the population into a priority list:
1. Those at risk because of daily exposure = medical workers
2. People who are more likely to die if they develop covid-19
3. Key workers, on whom the functioning of society depends
4. Everyone else.
5. Pet cats, hobbits, bats
6. Antivaxxers, flat-earthers

Sound about right?

Yes, i hope everyone else dies as well.

We disagree.

Given those at most risk get a bump, should BAME and African nations, particularly the men, be given priority?
