Who else has the FLU?

I have been sick with this dreaded FLU crap since Saturday and the medicine is just taking way to much time to work.

Who else has it and where are you at? I am just curious the path this virus/bug has taken en route to me.

I don't have the flu, but I've sure been coughing up a storm this morning. It had me up by 6:30am. And both my chest and throat hurt now. ~sigh~ Someone cum pamper me? lol

Chuckus, you needed a flu shot awhile ago, not a penicillin shot! Sorry to hear you're still sick. I'm actually feeling a lot better today- the strep throat I think is about over. Flu I don't know about. My dad got the drugs as soon as he got sick and he was out for about 3 days with it.

Cheyenne, you are right I should have gotten the Flu shot a while ago.........but being the stubborn one that I am and then my saying "I won't get it" got me what I have. Glad to hear you are feeling better. I am feeling incrementally better now.......I just detest being sick.

Ha! I HAD the flu shot, and I got sick anyway. Just with something different. Hang in there, it can't last forever. How's your dad doing? They won't want you around him at all if you're carrying flu germs!

Damn Flu bug got me by the ..*&%$#. Dad is better, he is supposed to come home tomorrow from the Hospital. All the surgeries and investigative stuff all went well. He is well rested and has his sarcasm back and is joking, so he must be feeling better. I meant to send you an email last night about that.........and yes they would not let me into see him when I was last there at the Hospital (Monday) because I was coughing and looked pale.....but I called him in his room and all anyways.....

Okay, someone refresh my memory on this flu shit. Since yesterday I've felt very tired and I've been coughing non stop. Right now my body feels hot if I were to touch it with my hands, but I feel cold not being burried under blankets and a comforter. When I cough, it hurts my chest and throat greatly. Also, I have migrane like pain throughout my entire scalp. I have not puked nor feel nauseous today though. So, did one of my family members give me an extra Christmas gift?

Tiggs, sounds like a certified geniune case of the FLU or some similance thereof........is it chills/hot flashes? clamy to the touch also?

I don't exactly have any hot or cold flashes, nor a cold sweat, or clamy skin. But right now in a large flannel shirt and socks I feel cold. Very cold. The only time I didn't feel cold was when burried under my blankets. I didn't even feel overly hot while under the covers. I loved it. (Which is rare for me.)

The last time I had the flu was two years ago, and I did throw up. It lasted for only 2 days. The last time before that (to my memory) I was a child.

Ewwwwwwww, you got a variation of the FLU there on your hands. I just wondered if you were having chills specifically or hot flashes.....but if you are wearing that and/or covered under the blankets and NOT feeling too warm nor cold then you either have it or are getting it. Also a tell tale sign~~~apetite? Have any?

I am just now beginning to feel back to normal. No "cold" chills or warm flashes and I am getting hungry. No headaches of any consequence either......best course of action, drink lots of fluids and make yourself eat.

Sorry Tiggs, I am not a doctor but sounds similar in nature to what I had.....

Well, around 10:30-11 this morning I cooked up some chicken nuggets in the oven and had a soda. The last time I ate before that was around 5pm. I haven't eaten since then and even the idea of drinking anything is unappealing to me. (But, then again, before this flu shit or whatever I was teething. On the lower left side I have a wisdom tooth giving me troubles again. It hurts a lot to open my mouth to swallow anything, yawn, cough, speak...)

Try to eat, your body needs the energy to fight off this crap and drink water to help as well. You don't have to drink like it is going out of style but enough to keep you properly hydrated.......just a suggestion and given a wisdom tooth is bothering you I can understand the whole not drinking nor eating thing......

I know all about dehydration of the body. I used to get streap-throat twice a year (once in Fall and once in Spring). It's to the point that I know all of the warning signs, etc. I only need the Dr. of the meds. lol And, typically when dehydrated I can drink about 5 of those large, reusable Taco Bell cups full of water. ~sigh~

Well, it looks like a glass (or two) of water and a package of saltines is my dinner tonight. lol
