Someone Finally Traced Al-Qaeda Weapons in Syria Back to Their Original Sellers

Finally, a journalist for a mainstream UK media outlet is methodically tracking weapons shipment serial numbers and English-language paperwork recovered from al-Qaeda groups in Syria, and he’s literally showing up at arms factories and questioning arms dealers, including officials at the Saudi Embassy in London, asking: why are your weapons in the hands of terrorists?

Veteran Middle East war correspondent Robert Fisk recently published a bombshell report entitled, I traced missile casings in Syria back to their original sellers, so it’s time for the west to reveal who they sell arms to. In it Fisk recalls a bit of detective sleuthing he’s lately been engaged in after stumbling upon a batch of missile casings and shipment paperwork last year hidden in what he describes as “the basement of a bombed-out Islamist base in eastern Aleppo” with the words “Hughes Aircraft Co/Guided Missile Surface Attack” emblazoned on the side of the spent tubes.

Or: How did American TOW missiles end up in Syria? Was the CIA doing this? or John McCain? The Saudis?

Maybe the weapons were part of the Fast and Furious program. Or maybe Obama had something similar going on with the terrorists during his final year in office. How long ago were the weapons shipped?

Hard to say but it sounds like a spook is in the woodwork here. Lots of war mongers were saying we need to 'support the Moderates" in a civil war. I believe John McCain and HRC were of that opinion and I'd bet there were factions at Langley that supported the idea too.

Maybe the FBI ought to look into this?

ISIS captured many weapons in Iraq when they defeated the Iraqi army.

Once weapons are in the Middle East they can pass through many hands by trade and battlefield finds. Who were they originally supplied to might be irrelevant after a couple of years, and the US, UK and others have been supplying arms to a whole range of militias for decades.

hey,,,

I'm of the opinion that the USA is the main provider for the arms and ammunition that fuels 90% of conflict on this planet.

I'm willing to bet it was your good white buddies over at Camp Jesus who gave ISIS the money to buy weapons. I already won the bet. Thanks racist.

That would be one of the sources, but ISIS also supports their efforts through robberies, sales of oil and any other way they can. However, the subject of this thread is how they obtained weapons. Many were captured on the battlefield and some were obtained from other Muslim sources and some were sent to them accidentally.

It's more like 35 percent, but, yes, the United States accounts for the largest percentage of arms supplying worldwide, by far.
