Rarely does either add anything to a conversation but both of them most infrequently enough that's to me it doesn't rise to the level of iggy. I can ignore both of them by not paying attention to them, as opposed to BB and Jen who can literally fill an entire page with

Around election time anybody with less than a hundred posts and a name of a major candidate should be put on iggy without even a second glance.

Oreo occasionally makes my head hurt but in the same way that Ish or Vette does and I don't have either of them on ignore. Neither of them are incoherent (though Vette definitely has his days when he's damn bad) and regardless neither of them post the necessary volume.

My rules for iggy are basically twofold. Nothing added to the conversation/incredibly rude and sufficient volume. If you have one and not the other I probably won't put you on ignore. Probably.

When it comes to political ults I just don't want to be bothered sometimes. Like there's Obama2012 and Obamarules and they made the iggy list right out the goddamn gate.

I fully admit that my list has more right wingers than left. I also contend that the left on Lit (and in the world as a whole) simply do not rise to the same levels. We don't have a Jen or a Busy body and you've got two! If there was some one who was just posting

^^^^^I would like to rest my case here. Some combination of Obama, asshat, cuckold, criminal, slave, fix, welfare are mentioned in this post. Which (when combined with other rule) shows both nothing added to the conversation and volume. You can't escape it.

I only recently like the last couple of months noticed Wat is conservative. I just thought he liked porn, mostly. Don't know the history, but he seems to be on people's list.

There are lots on the left that aren't really political, and don't say a lot on matter. That makes sense to me, given the venue here. The ones that don't seem to have well formed opinions that they are prepared to express but have to chime in anyway with ad hominem, put them into near, (but not quite,) jen territory for me.

My more favorite posters to read on political issues tend to be a little schizo on policy positions. It shows me that even when I don't agree they are individually reasoning the issue out. Botany, Colonel Hogan, CJH, Sigh, Biden~Time, and probably lots of others that choose to stay out of it.

So do I. For all my disrespect for Rush, Beck and O'reilly they are coherent if wrong. But the thing that snags me for those two is shit like Miles and Vette have no problem quoting either of them which to me screams of they agree with what those two say but lack the courage to say it.

My ignore list is mostly posters who are quick to attack and hold onto/bring up old grudges rather than actually talk about issues or answer questions. If so-and-so is such a racist twat and will never be convinced otherwise why do you engage them in such a juvenile manner? No, wait, don't tell me your reasoning; I assure you, it does not actually make sense in the real world.

For that reason I've got folks like Irezumi, BobDownSouth and Disgustipated on ignore because 90% of the time they enter a thread not to add anything of value to the discussion but to call someone a name, use pointless gifs or pictures and spew hate. There's no reasoning with them and no engaging with them; it's just immature flailing and fart noises.

Also, I've got people like SgtSpiderman and Sean Renaud on ignore because I've watched people argue with them and they'll take a stance and quibble about the most inane detail. They won't even be right but because your "definition" isn't their definition they don't ever back down or compromise or try to understand. They're brick walls.

I have badbabysitter on ignore because she talks to LJ Reloaded like he's someone to actually have a discussion with and I've watched her wage that battle ever since I got here. It's kind of sad.

Mostly just people who take this discussion board way too seriously that they have to hang onto prejudices and points just to "win". I come here for entertainment and engaging topics of conversations and even outside of political threads, they've got nothing I really enjoy reading.
