Whitney Houston dead?

shitty.

but so far the stuff i've read seems fairly vague and kinda weird. a part of me is holding off caring just in case it ends up being bullshit.

Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music's queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died. She was 48.

Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unknown.

At her peak, Houston the golden girl of the music industry. From the middle 1980s to the late 1990s, she was one of the world's best-selling artists. She wowed audiences with effortless, powerful, and peerless vocals that were rooted in the black church but made palatable to the masses with a pop sheen.

Her success carried her beyond music to movies, where she starred in hits like "The Bodyguard" and "Waiting to Exhale."

I just heard this.
So sad that the brightest stars can't seem to keep their lives together.

This is very sad to me. I remember the beginning of her career when she was a pretty, young, very talented woman. For her life to be over at age 48 is a tragedy.

"First of all, let's get one thing straight. Crack is cheap. I make too much for me to ever smoke crack. Let's get that straight, okay? We don't do crack. We don't do that. Crack is wack."

My sentiments exactly.

Lest we forget:

"You Give Good Love"
"Saving All My Love for You"
"The Greatest Love of All"
"How Will I Know"
"I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)"
"Didn't We Almost Have It All"
"Where Do Broken Hearts Go"
"So Emotional"
"I'm Your Baby Tonight"
"All the Man That I Need"
"I Will Always Love You"

Gotta wonder with the many tributes already planned for tomorrow's Grammys (Etta James, Amy Winehouse, etc.) , how this is gonna change the show...

Oh! Wow. I forgot about the Grammys, but you're right.

I keep waiting for people to start backing away from this story. I was with Whitney an hour ago at the Sonic on Cactus Swallow in Scottsdale. She had a root beer float.
I dropped her off at her place about 30 minutes ago, right after we heard about her "death" on the radio.
She thought that was hilarious.
Me and Whitney go way back.

CNN is saying how everyone was surprised she could act upon seeing her "first" film, The Preacher's Wife.

I guess The Bodyguard (4 years previous) never happened.

Dionne and Aretha must be unconsolable this night.
