I see the latest "White Power" thread has been deleted. I think this is at least the third time this has happened. I can't help but wonder: why the censorship?

I don't believe anybody in the forum favors that kind of crap soI would presume it was posted by some nut case who isn't actually a member but. So what, though? It's a controversial idea but that shouldn't result in its removal. Freedom of speech should mean freedom of hateful or wrong-headed speech too.

I didn't actually read all of it because I have seen enough of that kind of thing alrerady. I did leave a sarcastic comment, and some others did too, until I saw it was gone this morning.

It was the blantent links to other site the got it deleted. It was spam of the meanest kind. I agree with FOS but the poluting of this forum with trash like that is not only anoying it is dispicable. It was done to upset and demean it served no other purpose. IMHO.

I imagine for the same reason we don't have threads talking about Jews stealing all the money and the Irish being stupid and Indians being worthless drunks and blacks all being born criminals. These are all legitimate topics for discussion too for some people.

Freedom of expression doesn't mean we have to put up with idiotic hate-fueled ideas that have no legitimacy or argue whether 2 + 2 might really equal 5.

If this guy wants to post about why the white "race" is so superior and defend his ideas, that's one thing. But his posts so far have been nothing but racist graffiti.

These forums are not moderated, but they are regulated by the terms set by the site owners.

I thik the manifesto, while crude, would probably not be deleted, but the copious list of links is against the forums policy, unless I am mistaken.

But the greatest weapon against that type of idiocy is satire. Anger is what they're looking for and outright throwing them off will just make them feel like they've got stopped by 'the man' from spreading the truth.

Pointing out just how ridiculous they actually are demonstrates that we are a step above them, that we both understand their argument and are capable of ripping it apart with a few well-chosen words. Even if they never read the replies, it is better for us to deal, rather than just have it remove out of hand.

These people are nothing more than ridiculous. They shouldn't be treated as anything else.

I think on an Internet forum the freedom of speech of persons like this doesn't really serve its chief purpose in real life: identifying racist hate-mongers clearly so that the rest of us know who to avoid. In an anonymous situation like this, debate has its place, but spamming a non-debate stack of links doesn't really seem to be speech so much as advertising. Given that it's offensive to most of the users here, I'd argue that tossing the threads is roughly the same as tossing a thread consisting of "YA YA YA I HATE YOU ALL!!" a thousand times. It's just annoying clutter that gets in the way of the purpose of the board.

Actually, I generally agree with Elizabeth - although it may amuse us to make fun of them, ignoring them is actually more effective. They want, above all, a reaction; nothing puts them off like not getting one of any sort.

That said, sometimes I can't resist a bit of a laugh. I think it's the "let's watch Jerry Springer" gene.

Well I don't know about anyone else and stuff but I think if you have something to say about something you should say it cept if its something thats just mean and hateful and stuff and then I think you dont have the right to say it cause being mean and stuff is against the law anyway so if you dont like black people go ahead and say that but if all you can say is that black people are all stupid and not as good as white people then thats just mean and its wrong to say it and stuff and you should go to jail for it and maybe they could put you in a sell with some black people so you could work out your differences and stuff.

I agree with you in part because I find the anal retentive attitude and political correctness of our current "FREE"cultures (ROFLOL) more repugnant than prejudicial statements. However, I also concur with Doc on the point of graffiti. It looks great on a wall when done well, but is an eyesore (mind sore in this case) when done poorly.

When I see those threads it just gets my blood boiling sooooo much that I feel compelled to post. I guess I have some self control issues. I agree with a few of you who said to ignore them and that it fuels their fire. It's kinda like a little kid who craves attention, good or bad, screaming and crying, and feels rewarded when he gets noticed. This is LITEROTICA..............EROTIC LITERATURE!
