This is America, buddy. I hardly think a clarion call like "Our country is being cheated of potential leaders in the sciences" will have a lot of effect on policy makers here. No one wants our kids to even know enough biology to get out of their own way, because it's "Darwinism" or "sex ed." No one wants to invest in education, and that, crassly enough, for the simple reason that to invest you must use money. Tax caps are popular, sponsorship of college-grade minds to a proper education is "socialism." FAME grants go to candidates at Bob Jones U.

We have already lost the tech edge in America, a generation ago, and the current bazonga deficits and military expenditures will effectively cut out any such future. Welcome to tech dependence. Shut up and watch more television.
