I found Magic, but there were two types: Regular (Black and Gold can) and Sensitive Formula (Green and White if memory serves). Has anybody used both types? Do you know if the sensitive formula will be as effective, or should I just go with the regular? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

I've never actually used Magic, but I'd try the sensitive skin formulae first. Both formulas work well from the reports I've seen here at Lit, but the sensitive skin version is a bit more forgiving about how long you can leave it on.

Thanks Harold! I wasn't aware there was more than one, so I thought it best to ask!

I avoid that stuff like the plague.

I tried it once.. I did a patch test (very important) on my inner thigh. I still have a scar from the burn I recieved from leaving the magic on for 2 minutes.

Be very careful with it.. and remember to patch test before every use.

I had a friend that used it and it worked great the first time. The next time she used it.. it burned her so bad she had to go to the dr for it.

I WILL do a test patch with either formula...too many horror stories like yours!

If I may ask, which one were you and your friend using, the regular, or the sensitive?

The Walgreens Drugs over on the corner carries at least four different versions. They've got the two powdered version in the can and two or three versions premixed in a tube.

Be wary of even the patch test...when I tried it, I did a patch test at the top of my pubic hair and all was fine... the next night 26 hours or so later, I put it on all over, it started getting a little hot, and then I jumped in the shower to rinse it off - YEEOOOWWW!

The part where I did the patch test, and only that part, was burned pretty good.

To make matters worse, the hair started growing back and it was really uncomfortable with my pad...the last time, I just shaved and put on antibiotic ointment and all was good as far as itching...if I wasn't a wimp, I'd go get waxed and be done with it... :)

Well, I've tried the premixed sensitive skin stuff in a tube and I'm not totally convinced.

It did take the hair off nicely, but it's a pain and it does burn a little even when you're really careful. And one time I burned myself more than a little, but not terribly - but it was very unpleasant. I think the trick is to avoid places where skin rubs against skin - like the crease between the torso and the top of the thigh.

I've gone back to shaving, but there's still part of that tube left in my medicine cabinet and I sometimes think about it.

But even the little burn wasn't all that pleasant. Someday somebody will come up with something better - I hope - or made for intimate areas and mild enough for them but strong enough to do a good job.

Millie - who mostly just trims herself now.

That's what I'm starting to think...stick with what I know works and doesn't cause harm. I guess shaving and other dipilatories aren't bad compared to an experiment with Magic gone wrong!

Thanks for the advice!

If you wait till the search function is working then do a search you will get the other side of the can or tube.

I am sure there are a number of complimentary posts about it's use as well as the ones that went wrong.

There were a large number talking about it 3 or 4 years ago, which was when I had taken and interest in the use of it, not on me but on parts I love on my S/O.

We were long distance dating at the time so I only saw the results and we were lucky and had no burns, though I can tell you that nad'sing the hair on a guys back (mine) will cause him to bleed like a stuck pig.

Yikes! Luckily, my guy is almost hairless (chest, back, and stomach-wise anyway).

I'm going to keep thinking about the Magic...perhaps I'll get the sensitive formula next time I'm at the store and do a test, or I'll psych myself out and stick with shaving or Nair.

The sensitive skin formula and the regular formula are completely different. You may find that one or the other works better for you.

Read the instructions very carefully. The only time i've ever had any problem with Magic was when my skin wasn't completely, totally, absolutely bone dry.

MagicFingers, of course!
They never hurt or burn, except for the burning feeling you get from their touch, the burning sensation inside from the experienced hands, the teasing touch that drives you crazy...

Sorry, couldn't help myself.:D
